Admin for a Day: The myLot Home Page

OK. I can only think of a few things here. I don't know if these count, but I'm always ranting about the useless discussion tabs. . (Useless in my opinion, which is slightly biased.. sorry. lol.) I personally don't understand the difference between "recent" and "new", and I feel like "unresolved" is a pretty dumb category considering discussions should be open-ended, and therefore not NEED a "resolution". Unless it's the poster asking a very very specific yes-or-no type question. Another tab I don't get is the "hot" discussions tab. What's up with this one? I feel like most people that I've explained this to agree with me. But I love the home page! I actually really like seeing little updates and headlines.

I think it would be cool if we could change the color of the background, the font and such.

Thanks for the discussion Alice. I always have had a problem in understanding TODAY'S TOP and HOT discussions. I never really could figure out the difference. The home page is pretty cool. In the ACTIVITY section though, if we could have the profile updates of the friends it would have been good. Another thing, a testimonial sortie on the home page would be be nice. This would also be striking for the new users and would help in drawing more traffic. This much for now.

Hi, Alice.I have customized my home page but I don't see any changes. I don't use anything on my homepage at all. I still am learning how to figure out this part. I glance at the articles as I am logging into myLot for that day. I have read some of the articles from time to time. On the homepage, I would like to see any new tasks that will be offered to me in my dashboard. It can also have a scenery in the background that has a vast range of selections that I can choose from. It would be like a photographic memory. Also, it would be great if we could hear music of our choice that is suitable to the myLot's standards. This will give an awakening to us all when we log onto myLot for that day.

I guess that at one point I knew there was weather and news on my homepage sorties, but since I never use them I actually had to go check to see whether or not they were there. I must just automatically overlook them, because I never use them. I do not use the "today's top discussions", since I can get the same information from the "today's top" tab in the discussions tabs, but I do find the "discussions from my interests" sortie useful, since I do not have to go into each interest to see the most recent discussion that was started in that interest. I really like and use the rest of the sorties that are there, too. It might be nice if we could customize the look of our homepages more, but to be honest I probably would not use this feature.

One suggestion that I think would be cool is to have the option to arrange your favorite interests so that you'll have the ones that you are most interested about as the first link and so on.

Yes I changed something in my start page and I like the sorties. I think is good to have a immediate front page with all things that you like. Maybe can change something more but really I am not a nexpert and I cannot suggest anything special: I am sure that the administrators of the site know better than me waht can help

Hi Alice, I really love the personal profile page that you can create here on My Lot. There is something that I used to be able to before but I'm unable to do it now and that is change the position of different sorties on my profile page. There are times when I want to move a sortie from the bottom to the top and I used to be able to drag it but this doesn't work now. Everything else is fantastic and I'm one happy customer! Thanks. Me too! I think it would be nice to change the background color. Instead of just being white. The white text box is ok, but maybe a customized color for the rest. Just for aesthetics, instead of just looking at all white as you go through all the discussions.

I am sorry for writing the wrong post earlier. Well, as I said in my previous, topics placed under discussions should be in alphabetical order, regardless of the popularity of the topic. I love the fact that I can get to share my thoughts with people who are sensible, which you rarely find in other sites.

Theres only a couple things I want changed, but everything else is fine for me. =] 1.Onee thing I want changed is that I want to able to copy and paste without having to be rated 500 or above. Sometimes my computer or MyLot lags or freezes and I have to refresh it. After I refresh it it's all blank and I have to RETYPE everything again. Sometimes I get angry that I have to retype that I don't even type it anymore and just ignore it. 2. Another thing I want changed is to be able to have options of tags for the discussion. I noticed that after you submit tags, you cant submit anymore or you don't have the option to submit more. Also another thing is when I start a new discussion, you can either choose General Discussion or categorize it as one of your topics/interests. I haven't been using MyLot for a long long time but I noticed that I always just started General Discussion until my friend told me I can categorize it into different topics. I wanted to go back to my previous discussions which I started and change it so its categorized into different things and get more traffic for my questions. But, I found out that I can't, so all of the discussions I started don't get a lot of traffic are stuck that way. Well I guess I made a mistake and I need to learn from it. But it would also help if you gave us the option to change/add things. Thank you! =]

Okay, I am new here so I am still trying to figure things out. Overall, I would say I am not in love with the profile page. I want to be able to customize it and do more with it but do not know how. I checked the FAQ that says you can go to preferences to customize it, but all it let me do is too upload my profile picture. I think it would be great especially for the newbies if the customization would take you through being able to set-up each aspect of your profile page step-by-step. The other thing (sorry if this doesn't apply to the profile page - not sure how intersts fit in yet) it would be nice if for each of the interests there would be a search box where you could type in your interests. I feel like ther is so many pages that it takes forever to look through them all. Also, when I set my interests up there looks like there is multiples, so it would be nice to type in one category like using key word or tags and get a listing to choose from for picking the interest. I just think it would be so much more manageable and less time consuming for the new user to set up their interest page. Thanks,

I would LOVE to have an easier way to find my response to topics. If I want to follow certain threads and respond back and forth, it's currently difficult to find MY response in the thread. I don't always remember what page it was on so I end up paging through trying to find MY response. Honestly I hardly ever go back to reply to people because it's too difficult. I wish I could easily find where I responded (jump right to my response) and then I would love to have more back and forth talk with people in their threads.

Hi, Alice I'm happy to have the chance to discuss subjects regarding the improvements on mylot I really enjoy mylot, and I'm thankful to be a member. with that said I think you already know what one of my wishes is to have a delete or edit button that allows members to come back to older post and still edit the post but before there allowed to edit that member must log in with there info just as a percussion I think that be nice. Another improvement could be to add more earning opportunity's, like a fun trivia question worth $1.00 dollar whomever answers it correctly wins a buck you could have this trivia question once a week. hey and maybe mylot could make it so members can request payment when there ready with no minim payout instead of waiting for it just a suggestion I think a lot of members might like that. or mylot could add a mega earnings day where every post on a special day can be worth double.

Hi Alice. I like the weather feature but there is one problem. I am in the southern hemisphere where it is currently in summer, but my weather tells me that my city is having snow. That will need to be looked at if the weather is kept on the home page.

It'd be awesome if there were a selection of backgrounds like they have for MySpace and other sites like that. That would really spice things up. Oh, and I think that the rating system should be done away with; so many people tend to abuse it by rating a discussion negatively simply because they disagree with a person.

Frankly speaking my friend, I like Mylot home page. I'm more fond of some combination of bright and mind colours in the home pages. I feel it to be lagging in mylot. This is the only expectation I've over mylot my friend. The options that catch me the most is the features and the whole essence of my discussions is available in it without even entering into it and monitoring. Thats all my friend, have a nice day.

I love MyLot HomePage. It's simple. About the weather updates, I'm not use it. Because, It's show Jakarta's weather, not my city weather, Denpasar. I love the current homepage. It's simple. Simple is the best thing!
