Today I entered as usual the free rice site to do my daily work of playing some minutes to give rice to the hungry and it said that this year the amount of hungry people in the world had climbed to a BILLION!
http://www.freerice.com/ is a site sponsored by the United Nations World Food Programme. There are some games (language, maths, chemistry and so on) in which, for every word you answer right, they give 10 grains of rice to help out with hunger. I also discovered a toolbar that works better as they give 2500 grains of rice for 5 searches on the net. I use it instead of Google now.
I know that with a billion hungry people what I do is nothing. But at that site I have also read that it does help as many people are putting their grain of sand as I am. I always have in mind those children with their swollen tummies and their incapacity to shoo away flies from the wounds on their faces.
Could you check the link I put, please? I also know that my dog has a better life than those children. We could have been them. I am sorry. I beg you to check this site. Just one day will help, one click will help, let´s join hands.

By the way,2 months back i played once as you suggested and can i do this now also..guide me.Just now i am installing tool bar as i am using explorer..so no problem..

Thank you my friend. It is so easy to do this and it helps so much! And you probably know, if you have checked the site, that the help is now going to your country. Not that it matters: hunger is everywhere and it should not be.
I think you are also helping with those trees that give fuel (I forgot the name). There are lots of way to help and all are needed. It´s a pity that some people are more interested in destroying than in constructing our mother Earth.

Hi Baluyadav and margicha: I agree with you, it's easier to destruc rather than to build a new world so what you are doing, telling us about this possibility it's simply amazing and God will bless you because you, with this action are probably helping to improve a lot of lives that are in danger because they don't have enough food. We know that in our countries there is poverty, but it is nothing as compared to what other people have to bear. I have downloaded the freerice toolbar and search the web from there. They give 2500 grains of rice for 5 searches.

I donated alot to freerice.com in the past 2 years. It was a great feeling to be able to do that. I will be of course doing it again this year. Its a shame that there are that many people in the world starving in 2010. I heard about the Freerice back in January 2008 when I was visiting an aunt of mine in Florida. So as soon as I got home from vacation I started going to Freerice.com everyday.

Thank you, Lelin. As I´m a little lazy sometimes, I downloaded the toolbar so I know that I´ll give at least 2500 grains every day with no effort. They give that if you make 5 searches in the web on a day. I usually do more.

I always do the free rice site. I know that what I do is not a lot but at the same time it helps. If everyone does it every day, then a lot of people would be fed. I sometimes feel like stopping, because I feel that what I do is not a lot, but then again, if others like me stopped, then a lot of bellies won't get full.
