Whatever happened to good ol' fashion resume faxing?? Now you have to email..

Hi folks.. I was looking to apply for jobs online but the society has it sooo impersonal now. Instead of being able to go in person to apply for employment, you have to email a post or resume.. For example if I know that Applebees is hiring, then why can't I just go in person??? It just boggles me and it's discouraging. Not everyone owns a computer to be able to go online.. Faxing was a way to send your resume but I guess they do not want to waste their money on ink and paper.. Sheesh.. What is your input guys???
