Is saving pennies for the weight in copper worth it? or will it be in a few years, decade? Maybe one day copper will be worth $10 a pound? Only time will tell I guess.

Where I live, it is illegal to melt down currency for its metal content - you might want to check out the legality of your plan before you proceed. If it is legal, then why not try collecting all the pennies you can get your hands on? If you could collect even $100 worth, that should be a fair bit of copper.

Well honestly I'm not sure if it's legal or not to melt it down. I'm sure there's some sheisty copper guy out there who will have the screw it attitude.
