I was a moderator on a local forum. More hassle than anything. I deleted a topic because it was asking for ways to kill a stray cat which had gotten into someones garden. This as you can imagine caused some unrest and I coulld not be part of a forum discussing such topics. The subject poster explained it was a joke because of a returning member named "mrscat" who had annoyed some members in the past. I saw the funny side but some members went very immature with my decision to delete the topic.

explaining your decision every day to forumers is indeed a task..esp of you have made a decision that the members dont agree on..i find myself explaining everytime especially to the trollers after giving them warnings and all

I think being a moderator in a forum especially those forums who has many members can be a head ache because it requires lots of patience on your part. I am a member of many forums too and I tried hard to be a good poster and not violate any rules in the forum. If i will be given a chance I might not going to accept a moderators job. I am just wondering if being a moderator in a forum can have any advantages or is it only pure pain in the head. Because if you only feel stress all the time so it's better to quit the job and find something else rewarding.

I am not the moderator of any forum .But i am the member of so many forums. I actively participate in all the discussions and make it healthy discussion. Moderator is a big task. We should dedicate so much time in it. Member is the happy thing.

Yes, I am, of one forum where I used to be pretty active, so that is why I was picked to be a mod. But sadly, I am not so active there anymore. I just go to take care of some urgent moderating stuff from time to time.

since you are not active anymore have you resigned from being a moderator/
