Yesterday I passed my practical driving test. Now I will be able to go out without needing to wait around for trains and buses. I will be able to take my children and two dogs out to Sand Bay for a stroll on the sandy beach. I will be able to go shopping and not have to carry heavy shopping around with me. I can think of some very many places that I will be able to go to for enjoyable days out. Did you have an event that made you enjoy your life more? If not which event would make you happier than you currently are?

Congratulations maximax8! I am glad to hear that you are now able to drive instead of having to take public transportation! I'm sure you'll enjoy it immensely. I've gotten my permit, but still need to learn to drive. When I get my license I plan to take atleast one day to kind of drive around, make myself familiar with all the place I know of as a passenger, but not as a driver...

Well good for you max, and you will find hving the availability of the car will increase your freedom, and I'm sure you and your children will enjoy life more. The only thing that would make my life happier at the moment, is if the government would waive the remaining ten months of my residency requirement. Then I could be reunited with my wife in Thailand.

maximax8, I am happy for you on your passing of your driving test and you have a license which is not only useful at home but when you travel as well. You may want to try out some self drive destinations like Germany's Black Forrest or the some rustic countryside of Netherlands. I have found them to be very enjoyable and an experience I will always remember. All the best and do cherish your new found license.

Hi Max, Well, congratulations on this new achievement. Now you can enjoy going around without waiting for the public transport. I learned driving more by necessity than by choice. My husband cannot drive for me everyday, and I have to bring the kids to school, so I needed to learn it by hook or by crook, or so they say.

I think that when I passed my test I too felt like it gave me a whole new life - since I have been driving I have only taken public transport on a few occasions except of course for flying! : ) I love how having the car means I can do so much more on my days off from work whereas without I would struggle to go as many places and I would not have had as many great days out with my friends without my car either!

Congratulations, Maxine! I know what this means for you and how difficult it has been to acomplish this feat. I´m a poor driver and learnt to drive later in life, by necessity. But even if I still do many things walking, while other people would take the car, to be able to use it when I need it is priceless. Its is so important for you, dearest, to be able to go places in a car with Leo becoming bigger everyday and now having the baby too. You have never told me your daughter´s name. What is her name? I am VERY happy for you. Take care.

hie, i have been driving for the past 34 years.i was very happy when i passed my driving license. its one of the many milestone of my life. have car and have petrol can travel is my motto. i am confident to drive around though i may be in a new locality. i check my petrol and i can drive around searching for the place i want to visit or visiting a friend/ relative or going to a new supermarket or departmental store or a new eatery with families and friends or colleagues. i feel very independent with a car. i do not need to wait for public transport. the choice is mine. when a friend calls up and say 'lets go for a snack', off i go as and when i am free to join. or go for a vacation nearby, i am ready to drive and be there. i check my car , sort of cursory glance at the car tyres and the car in general. i sent my car for maintenance check up and i wash my car regularly too. take good car of my car and it serves me very well. do that and you will be glad. there are many events in my life that made me enjoyed my life more and more. there are many and amongst them, were when my family have additions to my family. i have five brothers and 2 sisters. i felt so good and blessed to have so many siblings. another milestone in my area was passing the many public examinations in my life such as the secondary school entrance examination until passing the university degree. another happy occassion was when i was offered the job applied and i was earning my own money as a salaried employee.i was truly happy that i could send money home to my parents and be able to help my siblings by contributing to their education and their success. what a blessings. i was happy when my brothers, sisters and cousins graduated and statred working too. we are a happy lot. next was when my elder brother and other brothers and sisters, got married and my family and i was blessed with the next generation of nephews and nieces. i even have grand nephews and nieces too.lovely isnt it? for myself , i met a good man, a god fearing man, a protector and a provider , got married and raised my family. my children are all grown up, graduated, working and soon all will be married and have their own families. life goes on and what a treasury of blessings. as a woman, mother , mother in law, aunt, friend etc , i am here to give words of encouragement, love, praise, support and words that build and edifyiong to all. i love what life has offered to me. i am happy and feel loved and be loved and that the Good Lord watches over us all from heaven. He is in our presence all the time. there are many many more and definitely there are happy wonderful times and occassions.

Many congratulations on passing your driving test - I bet you feel like you're walking on air at the moment. I passed my test 25 years ago and I can honestly say it is one of the best things I have done - it opens so many doors for you and you have so many more opportunities once you have a driving licence. Within a month of passing my driving test I also passed all my touch typing exams and even though I went on to do higher qualifications at a later stage, I can honestly say it is the combination of those two skills that has more or less kept me in work over the last 10 years when times have been hard. Happy motoring!
