Would you stay the night in a place where people say that there are ghosts?

My wife and I are going to go to Ireland one day and do the haunted castle tour that they have. You stay in 7 different supposed haunted castles, one each night. This sounds like it will be real interesting and I am adventurous and would like to see if they are really haunted or if it's all put on like the movies. Also it would be cool staying the night in a castle and visiting Ireland since that is my heritage. I am wondering with them advertising it as a haunted castle tour if your mind would play tricks on you making you think you have seen or heard nothing even though it was all in our mind. I hope we do not sound crazy for wanting to do this because it sounds interesting to us and I believe it will be lots of fun either way.

hello wisereptiles! it does sounds really interesting! an adventurous person like you (and you're wife ^_^) would never miss this experience! i'm also an adventurous person and i love watching movies that has to do with ghosts but stay in a castle filled with ghosts for one night? maybe i'm not as adventurous as i thought i would be :P have you watched paranormal activity? that gave me goosebumps! so i think i would not want to stay the night in a place with ghosts roaming around. well at least not for now hehe :) Have fun on your trip! and don't bring those ghosts back with you lol!

Yeah paranormal activity was a good movie. We love going to haunted houses(the fake ones) during the month of October and I think this would be really fun to do. Now I have never seen a real ghost and do not know how I would react if I were to see one but it would be the suspense of what you could see or not see.

I believe it will be tons of fun whether or not we actually see s ghost. I think it will be cool being able to stay in a castle even if it is or is not really haunted. We did a cheap honeymoon and have been saving to do this and if everything goes as planned it will be within the next year or two. Our family thinks we are crazy wanting to stay in a haunted castle but the to want to see pictures. They said we can prove to them if the castles are really haunted in Ireland. Either way this will be worth the trip because we can say we went and toured castles as well as got a great vacation in Ireland as well. I can't wait to see where my ancestors came from.

I would stay in a heartbeat...lol I am hoping to go to Ireland someday. My problem has been I don't know anyone that is willing to go with me...lol I'm sure there are really spirits in most of the castles as they are so old and so much went on in them. There is bound to be a lot of energy roaming about over the years. I am sensitive to spirit energy and see "ghosts" all the time. Oh I am so envious..lol I wish you luck, keep your mind, ears and eyes open and you just may see something you can't explain. And yes it is very easy to convince yourself you are seeing something that isn't there especially when your expecting spooky things...hehe

We are hoping to see something while we are there. The noises will be intriguing but I would really like to capture something on film or see it as well so I can say that I have actually seen something and I can share our expierence with family and friends when we get back.

Yeah we are taking our HD Video camera that has night vision as well as our DSLR camera. We want as many pictures as possible and believe me they will be taken because we want to document our trip as well because this is something we are gonna enjoy very much when we go.

Yes I would love to stay a night in somewhere that was suppose to be haunted, although I already do as we have had lots of strange happenings and I have actually seen a ghost in my own house. Do you know what parts of Ireland the castles are in as me and my family are going to be spending six weeks in Ireland in the summer would love to be able to go and see some of the castles for myself.

That sounds like so much fun. I would love to do that too but of course never alone. I would have to be with someone at all times. I would get spooked real easy but like scary movies I would love it just for the thrill of it. I saw a ghost in my basement when I was a teenager. I went screaming up the stairs and everyone was saying you look like you saw a ghost. I said I did. My dad ran down to the basement but of course it was gone by then. I hope you have alot of fun if and when you do it. If you do go please come back and let us know how it was.

No. No. And No! I'm not much of a believer in spooks and that sort of thing but why tempt fate? I have enough problems. You always see movies about really stupid teenage girls (mostly) who stay the night on some dare and then get killed by morning. I don't need to go through that. I think even when I was a teenager I was smarter than that.

I am not worried about being injured if we were to see a ghost. If that were the case then I believe that we would of seen that sort of thing on the news already or in the papers. Movies are different from real life on what happens so I do not believe everything I have seen in the movies.

WOW that sounds like a great holiday hun, and I think you will have a wonderful time. I wouldn't have any problem staying in a reputedly haunted castle, I think I would love to. Ok, maybe I'm wierd and strange but I love old castles, I don't for one moment think you are crazy for wanting to either. Go for it, if nothing else it will be a wonderful experience

Are you talking about the West Virginia Penitentiary? Is so we have talked about touring that this year when we go to our family reunion in Pennsylvania. I think it would be cool to do and would make a fun get away after the reunion.

I am instrested in that. I would do it I am not afraid of spirits and I think it would be very instresting as well as exciting. Thanks for posting this I never knew that I could go somewhere and go on a haunted castle tour and stay overnight in 7 haunted castles. I really want to go now. Is there any like that here in the United States? By the way you will know if the place is haunted for sure, There is no way that they can fake spirits.

I have not found any in the United States yet. I know there are some but I do not know if the do tours at all. I am going to post a link to a site where it has supposed haunted sites by state as well as country. This may be able to help you find something in your area. http://theshadowlands.net/places/

I'm not saying I believe in ghosts, I have never seen one so it is hard to believe. It's the thrill of it that has intrigued us and the history behind the castles. If we were to see a ghost or spirit then I would say I was a believer but not until then.

We like to try new things and see how it is. I am not saying I would not be frightened just because I think I would be expecting to see something and every little noise would be something I was not expecting.

No I wouldn't. I'm such a scaredy-cat and fears easily especially on the subject of ghosts. But I do like going to amusement parks with a "ghost theme" like a haunted house or a ghost train. I'm brave when it comes to those, coz I'm assured they're not real. But to stay in a place with real ghosts is too much for me. Maybe I'll go if I absolutely have to, or if I have lots of company.

I am looking at it as a learning experience as well as a vacation. Get to learn about the castles as well as the history behind them. I think it is going to be awesome no matter if we experience anything out of the ordinary or not.

So you would not even stay in a possibly haunted castle to learn the history that happened there? I think it will be fun to see all the sights and all the rooms that the castle has to offer. I am really looking forward to seeing the dungeons if they allow us to.
