Do you like to let people borrow things from you?

I really don't mind lending things out, because I am a very firm believer in karma. Even if they don't return it, you have done a good deed and that deed will come back to you in another form. I also figure that if they don't return it they must need it a lot more than I did because I was willing to part with it in the first place. I know it sounds kind of weird but I have lived that way my entire life and I have had a very good life! I have never been in need of anything, because no matter how bad times are there is always a helping hand- which I believe is all that good karma I have dished out!

for me it's not a problem as long as they return it to me. If someone borrow something and fail to return it...then i didn't let that person borrow anything again.

for me. i am not pleasent to let people borrow thing from me. as you say, most people will forget to return to us when they borrow it. the simple reason that i actually not like to borrow thing from other people.so,its fair that i am not let borrow thing to them.i think most people not like to lend their thing to other people, not me only..

Honestly, when I lend something out, hopefully it's not too expensive, I do it with the intention of giving it away as if I do receive it back, well that's great, if not that's fine as well. I don't want people to borrow something and say they'll give it back, it's like taking a debt that you want people to pay for. I guess, it's better if it's free, otherwise charge!

I don't really like to let people borrow my things because they will most likely not even return it to me. Then I will have to be a real annoying person bothering them all the time to get it back. It will likely result in a ruined relationship between us. So I decide not to lend out my stuff anymore.

I don't let anyone barrow anything from me. I don't get it back, so if someone wants something I make sure its something I can afford to lose. I can't afford otherwise to be taking any kind of risks like that.

Well, I used to let people borrow things from me.. However, i have decided not to be so nice anymore as some of them are pretty abusive.. I remember one time when my former college classmate borrowed 2 chicken soup books from me.. she promised to return the books after she finished reading them but she failed to do so.. since then, i didn't let other people borrow things from me...

I don't have a problem with people borrowing small things like a pen or pencil. I usually have many more in the off chance I don't get it back. However, larger things like tools, I have a big problem with people borrowing. There are certain people I would never loan things to because they are so unreliable. Then of course, there are others that their word is their bond. If they say they will return something, they will absolutely do it or pay for the missing item.

First of all I dont like if things borrowed from me. But sometimes I let it borrow because we are friends and neighbors. I dont like my things borrowed and it will not return right away after it used. Also after using the things borrowed like books it was break/torn by some pages. Then they didn't mind the result of lending some things and they did not care what they did. It happened to me all the time in my office that my collegues always lend any materials from me. Then as I checked it , it was not cered much as I cared it. It can make me mad. Always control my emotions up to the limit where I can hold. But there is a time that I will blow my sentiments to the one not care my things.

Same here. I do not like to lend to those peopl ewho forget to return the thing after their use!!! It becomes even more irritating to lend people the same things over and over. WE have this neighbour who doesnt buy a bottle opener and thier kids come asking for it every month atleast once if not twice. Also, when they did not have an oven, they wanted to make cookies here just because we had it here. Later when they found out that we have a meat mincer, they want that too!!! Now I do not tell them of the new kitchen appliances I buy. It is not that they cant afford. The daughter's explanation is that when they get it for free, why buy!!! I undertood about this attitude when she came to borrow reader's digest. I asked her, y not subscribe if you like it so much? she says, you have a subscription, Why should I have one? we live so near...it is waste of money, and then she forgets to return it!!!

its alright that someone borrows my things as long as they ask permission and knows how to return it. I am very particular wit my things and I know exactly where i put them so it really irritates me not to find my things in places where i put them. i hate it also when people borrows your things, then return it with damage. because when you borrow things you are expected to take good care of it and return it in good condition.

I only borrow things to people who are really close friends or family, because I trust them to give back my things in the condition that I lent it to them in the first place Too many times have I received things back covered in newly formed scratches and scuffs, and the people always deny damaging the item I had the decency to let them borrow

For me, It will depend on the person borrowing my things. If I know him as a person who takes care of his/her things, I can lend him/her my things. As long as he doesn't borrow it often.

I won't mind giving them because my friends have helped me a lot in many issues.So giving them a pencil or pen is not at all a thing.I love my friends.Even If I ask them back they will just do funny like I won't give back to you , do whatever you want to.Ya , I love that.That is friends. Even I do the same.We will enjoy those things.

hi anime123 I hate it when people want to borrow my pen and then have to be prompted to return it. I want to say why on earth do you not buy yourself a pen instead of always borrowing mine? I try not to borrow stuff from other people and am hoping I will not be asked to lend the little things that anyone should be able to provide for themselves. It is a lot like people refusing to wear a watch then having to go around asking people what time is it? I am , like get a watch please. I take pride in my belongings and have reason to keep a number of pens on hand as I am a writer.

It depends what things they will borrow, if it is a book or a pen or a hairbrush then it is okay for me. I am wary with people who got an amnesia when borrowing things.

I will see who want to borrow. If borrower in my view is a good person and will get back for thing what he borrowed then I will lend it. If no never ever borrow thing to me because you will broke it and never get it back to me. I hate people who lend something but never send it back to me. for this reason I selective very selective to people who want to borrow thing from me.

Its okay for me to people borrow things from me. But I always make sure I can trust this person with my personal belongings before I lend it to them. I have to make sure that that person can take care of the things that doesnt belong to them. There are a lot of people who dont know how to take care of things especially if it doesnt belong to them I dont like that because every time I borrow something, I guard it with my life.

ya i am not concerned about giving things to other . they wont ask us if they have that thing . they are asking since they dont have it and if i have that then i will surely give it . i think that only if we help others we may get some help from others . i have borrowed a lot of things from my friends like pen , calculator etc. there is nothing wrong in that . we should be helpful in things we can .
