You know you've over-procrastinated when...

You know you've procrastinated too much when you watch TV until 10pm, do homework until 5am, sleep at 6am and get up at 7am to go to school. And by you, I mean me. No matter how much I try to get straight down to business, I always find an excuse to slack off for a few minutes... and those few minutes usually turn to hours. So how do you deal with procrastination? Any suggestions on stopping this irritating habit?

Erm, reverse your sleeping schedule? Haha, kidding. Try doing homework until you absolute CANNOT anymore. Then do the fun stuff. Hard to go back, but at least you get stuff done! It helps to make a strict schedule ahead of time, so get things done (assume they are due) one step at a time!

Just say no. I used to have this problem but after attending boarding school for a few years , I've become disciplined. Think about the future u'll lead if u procrastinate. Imagine living on minimum wage 0_o for the rest of ur life while all of ur friends excel in their respective fields. U left behind :) U looked down upon by everyone. Does this motivate u? "MY SON IS AN IDIOT!!!!" Lol , that's ur mother insulting u in front of everyone. How about getting someone to beat u up every time u don't do ur homework at the time decided by ur parents? LOL. That'd work :)

LOL yes, picturing a bleak future working minimum wage while my friends succeed in life does somewhat motivate me. (MY DAUGHTER IS AN IDIOT*) The beating up thing is kind of extreme, but thanks for the suggestions :)

Well, when you feel pressed for time and you panic that you will not get anything done, that is just a sign that over procrastinating is relevant. Putting things off even for a little bit is never a good thing. When we continue to push things back, we find that we keep pushing them back a little bit more. Than a little bit more and all those little bits add up to an insane amount of time for sure. I would highly suggest getting things done immediately. Get it done as soon as possible, no matter how long the task takes. Sure, it might be something that you would rather not do but really, if you keep pushing it back to later, then it will be trouble. Something that is done now, is something that you will not have to worry about doing later. So do not put off anything when you have the time, even for a little bit. That just starts a snowball effect that eventually escalates into full blown procrastination.

Before i was a procrastinator but until when i realized that the time i wasted is a good time for me to do something reasonable for myself then i started practicing it and anything i said that i want to do something i will surely do it now.

You just have to learn how to manage your time wisely. And you have to take control of all your daily activities. Its just matter of how you will be able to do things in a way that it should be. I think procrastination is really nit a very good habit especially for a student.
