What do you think is the best college course to take at present?

At this time where we are experiencing global crisis, does our earned degree matter? Having live in a third world country, I can see much of our population is suffering from poverty. I am now thinking whether my degree of Bachelor of Business Management, is good enough in terms of getting a job that would provide a comfortable life despite the bad economic condition. I applied for a lot of companies but only get few calls for interviews. And at times it take a long time for the HR people to give feedback. I am now thinking of making a career shift such as enrolling in a different course or venturing into a new path. What do you think?
