I may be from the States but I was hoping Canada would win. The Had to win. their game , their home ice! I was glad to see it was a tight well played game. to tell the truth I saw the first goal and I thought, this is over! It's going to be a barn burner! But I was wrong thankfully! i came back for the third Period and what a period it was! After thinking I wouldn't like Olympic hockey and I wouldn't know any of the guys, turns out I knew most of the guys on both sides And I enjoyed what I saw! They did It1 The Canadians won the Gold! Congrads!

Thank you and to the other Americans (including my husband) who cheered for Canada, and hoped we'd win. You've been an awsome support during the 2010 Olympics. The USA has the most medals overall, congrats for that, and I'm proud of Canada for the amount of GOLD medals we've gotten, since until 2010, we'd never received a Gold in our homeland.

Congratulations to all of the Canadian athletes that won medals during the Winter Olympics. The mens hockey game was just awesome to watch and the womens game was very good as well. That is great that you had the most gold medals. Thank you for the congrats for the USA medals as this was our best showing in the Winter Olympics ever. It is sad that the Olympics are over and look forward to the next one.

the game definitely meant a little more to the Canadian players, but it is just a shame to see it end that way for our goalie Ryan Miller who was the tournament MVP and deservedly so. We just made too many mistakes to overcome 3 turnover right by the goal and the last one ended up on Crosby's stick and he surprised Miller with a very quick shot. Team USA played a great tournament and was the best team of the tournament right up to the end, but just made too many mistakes against a very good team and when you do that i don't care how good your goalie is he just can't make up for those kind of mistakes. Team USA showed a lot just to get it into overtime with a goal with just 24 seconds left in the game and you can say one thing with it being 4 on 4 in the overtime there was no way that it was going to a shootout someone was going to win it in the overtime. I was very proud of the character that our team showed to get into overtime and Ryan Miller kept us in the overtime as long as he could until we made our final mistake that ended up in the net, but the game was very exciting to watch and they put on a great show for hockey around the world.

Canadian here! Honestly, when that game went into overtime I thought we would crumble under pressure. Sydney Crosby was kept off the score sheet for most of the Olympics so it was great that he could score that winning goal. I've been wearing my "Believe" shirt for the last 3 or 4 days. I knew now was the time to keep it on. This was Canada's best Olympics ever and I am so proud to be a Canadian right now. Well, always have.

What an ending! It would have hurt so badly to lose the win with 24 seconds left then to lose the overtime. Congrats to the Canadians and to the legend of Sidney Crosby, this generations Great One.

I agree that the US team was the best team of the tournament. Even if Brian Burke keeps insisting that they were the underdog team. I don't think Luongo played that great. And for letting that tying goal at the very last minute, I would still be nervous about him bringing the canucks to a Stanley Cup playoffs. I felt bad for Kesler. I could just feel him holding back emotions as he was given the silver medal. The mostly-vancouver crowd did acknowledge him. Anyway, it was a great game! I was the edge of my seat the whole time. Congratulations Canada!

Luongo had a really tough game. He looked scared or something. He game up way too many rebounds. He is lucky his defense and the "hockey Gods" were on his side. His performance alone could have made for a very bad game. I hope winning the gold will jump start him a little because if he plays like this for Vancouver, they could be in trouble.

Canada Needed this win. If they had lost , the whole Olympics would have been ruined!

I'm just glad we could leave all this Olympics behind and focus at job at hand, which is the last stretch towards the Stanley cup playoffs. ...oh, there is this just little 'trade-deadline' thing to deal with first, and then off to the last stretch!

Can't say that I am happy for the Canadians. I thought overall their play was really bad. The US on the other hand went to play every game but this one. They played really flat today but I think they were the best team at the Olympics. And once again Sidney Crosby gets the spotlight. I have to say I wanted to puke when he scored that goal but, he is a finisher. This is what he does and I feared it the whole game that it would be Crosby at the end. I thought Ryan Miller played fantastic and that is why he won MVP of the tournament. US should hold their heads high! They are the true winners to me.

I heard the NBC guys saying that most of the NHL players missed the closing ceremonies because some had games as early as tomorrow. Must have been an interesting plane ride for Babcock and Rafalski.

I felt the worse for Miller and Rafalski..and I was right there with you cane when Crosby scored the winner..not a point in the series and he gets lucky enough to be the hero..I hated that.

Congratulations to both the Canadian Men and Womens Hockey Teams on their gold medals. They both played very well and made their country proud. Both games were very enjoyable to watch and both games could have gone either way. Canada won the most gold medals of any country in the Olympics and that is a nice thing to see as well. Congratulations to the other medal winners for Canada.

I was completely disappointed. It was a great game; everything that a gold medal game should be. When the US tied the game with 34 seconds left, I was jumping up and down. I do hate, hate, hate the fact that Crosby scored the winning goal. He was a non issue throughout the entire olympics and all of a sudden he is god. It digusts me. Congrats to Canada, though. It was a well fought match and very class act play.

I don't like Crosby either . I prefer Ovie. Ovie has passion and he shows it with every shift. Anyway . I'm glad for Canada and I was hoping they wold win. Why? Because there are so many Canadian players who are Red Wings. I wanted my guys to be happy and have that fire for the game. And besides it is Canada's game.
