MS office 2007 have a lot of problems. it's files are not open in any other version whenever we don't install format converter. I think ms office 2003 is best.

The biggest difference – and the only difference most users are going to notice – is the ribbon, which is a replacement for the traditional menu system. The ribbon is supposed to make it easier for people to discover features that are already present in the office suite. There really isn’t a huge difference for the average user: if you just type away then the difference between the two is negligible. for the power users, they’ll notice some slight tweaks and differences, along with a major speed boost in Outlook 2007. Should you get Office 2007? Well, if you already have a version of Office that works fine, then don’t spend the money (and it is a lot of money). For me, both are more less the same.

Hi, I mainly use ms office suite for creating my ebooks. The subjects I write to choose usually involve lots of scientific notations, like differentiation, integration, Greek and Latin alphabets etc. MS 2007 leaves MS 2003 far behind in mathematical notations. I know there is provision in MS 2003 too. But the ease of using it is quite better in latter. I've written a whole book of mathematical induction with the help of this version. Take a look http://selflearners.wordpress.com/my-ebooks/ This works fine with me. I would say MS 2007 is amazingly effective for e-book writers like me. God bless you all

I think that 2003 is more practical and faster then 2007. It seems that 2007 is quite overcharged with buttons and commands but Everybody has his opinion..

Actually it depends on which version u r doing practicing if a persons done work on 2003 he/she likes this version only because he/she has the good knowledge in this...and vice versa...yeah 2007 has improve version of 2003 having good things...but many of persons like to work 2003 because they think it is more reliable than 2007...so,I think i make my point clearly...have a nice day...

For me 2007 is better since it can do what 2003 can also do. and if you are worried about the format of the file when your saving it. there is always an option during save as if you will save it as a 2003 document which will have and extension of .doc or save it as a 2007 file which has an extension of .docx what is also good with 2007 is that it has better interface already compared to 2003 and has added features. the only thing which i hate on 2007 is it's already more graphical and icons are combined with different settings which took me time when i first used it. but continued use of it will make you more better in manipulating the system.

i beg to differ. As far as my own experience is concerned, MS 2007 can do everything 2003 can do, and has a much better interface. If you're going to open files in another version, what on earth do u save the file in 2007 format for? You can save files in a format compatible with all versions - it's what I sometimes do.

i do not quite agree with what you say,as for me,office 2007 is better than 2003,may be the function of office 2007 is similar with 2003,but, it have changed a lot,and it's fairly easy to use.it also add many of wonderful effects and make you better demonstrate your doc/ppt/excel,if its file are not open as you said, perhaps you have not correctly install,my suggestion is that you can uninstall and install it again.may be u'll have a comfortable experience with it,good luck to you!
