Hi in there I just registered as a voter and right now the election is coming very soon. It's pretty obvious that in the media these candidates have their own image in the mass which attracts voters. Personally, I don't know whom i will vote 'coz in the first place i don't even know their platform or their history not in their last name but the projects they had. Could you give out your opinion of your choice for presidency? Thanks in advance

Take time to read the newspapers, research on the Internet, listen to forums they join in. Some of them even have fansites or websites, so check them out. Look at their track record, what they have done during their term in government (or in the private sector, for some candidates). For me, aside from the platforms that they have for the country, I base my choice on what they have done in the past and how they respond to the current situations in our country. More or less, what I have seen from them is what they can and will do in the future, when they win the elections.

Definitely not Aquino or Villar. Aquino, to me, seem to lack the will to lead. If he was not thrust into running by his partymates, he wouldn't really enter the presidential race. Remember that he even went to a "retreat" and sought advice from some people? Villar, on the other hand, has many controversies under his belt. Not to mention that his campaign feels like it's founded on empty promises. In terms of political will and track record, it may be Gordon for me, because he's proven that he can create change just like what he did to Subic, or Teodoro, because he seems smart though he's too much associated with PGMA. Still, there's about 2 months to research and think about it, but those two make it to my shortlist.

wow, at least I did already know something about Gordon about subic which really makes sense to me. I know that's just a piece of work and there their are lot am sure. That shows he's really working on it.

For me, background testimony of a candidate is very important. It's really hard for voters to choose a good President but I guess just try to observe how these candidate act or respond to issues of any sort. Then decide which of them can convince you.

Yeah, there should be a documentary presentation of each candidates that will expose all these things they had since they serve the philippines. In that way, a lot of us will have preferences in making our decisions.

hehei, gotcha I bet Villar as well. However, i still lack a lot of information of his dids. His a business minded person. He could provide jobs. But it seems that once he became the president, everything that you'll here in the media would be critics from oppositions. Teodoro is intelligent whom i really appreciate. And Gordon who is really silent in critics and excellent in projects. If only possible to have three president then why not. =)

Unfortunately Philippine politics has turned into a popularity contest. This has been a fact since the 1987 constitution was promulgated. Multi-party is one of the reasons people raise. Its good to have many choices, but "parties" should be defined by their platforms and political beliefs not the popularity of their candidates. It's good that you haven;t decided because you don't know their platforms. That what ball people should be looking at. But because of the nature of the nature of Philippine politics, I doubt that any of the presidential aspirants will present one. A good way to determine their capacity would be to look at their political careers and their accomplishments as government officials. What bills they authored and what bills became actual laws.

I would agree, media came to be very influential to the Philippine community nowadays. You can even count wise persons. The ratio of wise to ?? would be far different. Political analyst says the impact of media to the public is different 'coz it attracts the people. So basing from it, popularity came to be the basis of a number but not all.

Well, Filipino's should vote wisely. Most of our people doesn't believe in elections anymore. Based your vote not on popularity, survey or money. Check what agenda they have for the country for the next six years and see if the agenda is realistic. Also check their track records. Let us hope and pray that we will have peaceful and just election. It has a been a long time that our country is suffering because of corrupt officials. Let us put an end to this suffering. This will only be possible if our people will be responsible voters.

i agree elections are turning out to no sense at all , this society is really complicated. politicians are backbiting at each other which should not suppose to be. They should learn their values. Filipinos are open to comments and suggestions but what is happening right now is that our leaders instead of tackling the issue together, they'll just blow bad things and not the good things.

I think it is much better for those person who is running for presidency to show what they can do for the country rather than hearing their plans. For me I will vote the person who has the best record and with no bad records as possible. I am hoping that the next president can do something about our economy and will listen to everyones concern. Let us hope to have a fast and clean election because we all know that we have a pretty bad records when it comes to our country's election day. Vote wisely God bless
