IPL has been announced as the second highest paid league in the world, based on first-team salaries on a pro-rate basis. The much awaited English Premier League gets the fourth spot. IPL took only 2 years to beat the most popular sporting league in Europe. American National Basketball Association (NBA) league heads the list with the average salary rating about 2.62 million pounds per year. And IPL follows it with an average salary of 2.5 pounds per year. American Major League Baseball (MLB) comes third with an average salary of 1.82 millions per year. And English Premier League gets the fourth spot with 1.46 million pounds per year. Very proud to be a fan of IPL...This is a great improvement in Indian Cricket....I still can't believe that IPL beats EPL...What do you think about this...

Thats a great achievement Gary---It managed to reach heights within three years of time and its outstanding. Thanks to Kapil Dev who came with ICL ---- Lalit modi did copy his strategy---Modi was successful in implementing it in a bigger manner and here we are enjoying the matches.Mumbai indians are the unstoppables this season they stand a good chance to win the game .great day.

But Modi should get all the acclaims and applauds---the way he introduced it .I'm from hyderabad gany----if i'm not wrong the one in your profile pic is Vijay right I would love to watch my home team deccan chargers win the series again ---just a couple of wins brings them back into the winning stream---i do not think chennai super kings stand a good chance to win this years series though---Mumbai indians and Delhi daredevils are really good now with their batsmen in tremendous form

Then are you from Mumbai..?...I'm from chennai...I want either Chennai or Mumbai or Delhi...No other should win....Sachin is in good form..hope he gets the man of the series....

It shows the cricket popularity in subcontinent and the economic effects it brings out. There is no doubt that India is a big market for cricket. And IPL has crossed the borders and it is not just a local tournament or a league. With its international players it has international appeal and surely it has good potential. But it needs to be seen whether it can sustain it or it will fizzle out as time passes. IPL has already created a sort of history and it is almost like what Kerry Packer did with ODIs in old days. Happy Mylotting!

dealing with money IPL will go up more powerful. But I still think that there ismore fan support for EPL and football. cricket has to wait some more time for that

The day is not far when IPL will beat even the American NBA. Do note that the American Economy is 20 years ahead of India and still our IPL is only a few millions below. In fact, the rate at which IPL is growing, I would not be surprised if IPL overtakes the American iconic games next year itself.

Hi friend it is indeed a matter of pride for us that ipl surpassed epl and there is no doubt about this fact.Cricket is almost a religion in our country and so the corporate world are throwing themselves behind it and trying to get as much mileage as possible..however I think that if some amount of cash invested could have been utilised for other sports then we could have surged ahead in other fields too.We must give all credit to Lalit Modi and his team for organising such a tournament in our country.Jai ho!
