my neighbor is now making use of of solar energy. he has made some solar panels and placed it on their roof. he even made a lamp post which is powered by a solar energy. now that there is a problem in the supply of electricity and its high cost, don't you think its about time that we make use of solar energy? the energy is coming from the sun and its free.

hi,the main problem before human beings are reducing petroleum reserves and increasing demand for alternative energy sources that too without effecting nature with pollution.Out of all alternative energies..solar is one apart from the other altenative like Biodiesel..from Jatropha, algae, vegetables, palmoil and hydro...so naturally solar is largely avaialable natural resource... here is one link to know the jatropha plantation growung for biodiesel.. http://www.newjatrophaworld.com all the best and have a nice time.

hi umadper. i heard about jatropha as a source for biodiesel in one of the discussions over a radio station in our country. yes its really a good source of biodesel as explained. jatropha is easily grown here in the Philippines.thanks also for the information.i think its really time to be serious about this alternative source of energy. its becoming too expensive to live in this world but all around us are natural resources that we can tap for this purpose.

well, i think solar energy is recommendable.. knowing that we are 100% powered by nature with renewable energy, with solar energy, we can stop wasting money on our electricity bill, help the global economy and save the Earth, and we can even eliminate completely our electricity bill by generating our own electricity through solar energy...

hi shigeraldz. that's true we can save a lot by using solar energy and we can avoid the problem of the high cost of electricity or the lack of it.

It is a way forward to improving the environment but, it is still quite expensive and, it depends on weather patterns especially.

It is a very good alternative since electricity charges kept increasing. I have known some people who are already trying to make use of solar energy. One of them is my professor in the graduate school. He even had experimented boiling water using an umbrella, a tin foil with the sun.

you have to look at the particular climate and environment you live in example hours of sunlight ,amount of wind closeness to suitable river system, closeness to the ocean ,availability of hot rocks and geothermal activity.all these natural assets can be used to provide power in clean and economical way. i think the best source of green power are hot rocks/geothermal sites and wave power as they seem to use the least use of of expenses to technology to utilize them.i think they would also leave the smallest foot print on our precious environment.
