Hi friends, Few months back,i read in an article about the way of taking care of our teeth. one of most useful suggestion was that we should go to dentist every six month for check up of our teeth. This way we prevent any damage or forming of cavities in the teeth.I have started now. What about you?

no i don't.i know it is needed but i think its simply waste of time.earlier also people did live with good teeth.if one can control what he/she eats i guess then there is no need for a check up.the doctors charge for nothing.if its once a while or only when you notice some irregularities then it is fine to go for a checkup otherwise i don't see a reason why one should go for a checkup.

Hmmm. There are likely free clinics or dental schools available where you can get a checkup and a cleaning at least with no cost. If you have insurance, then check ups and cleanings are covered at 100% and there is no cost involved. The only costs would be if you need any fillings or other repairs. Trust me, I know how it is. I took all my kids before I went back myself, so it was probably a good 3 or 4 years before I went at all. I just switched to a new office and I LOVE them.. found out my old office was trying to rip me off lol. I said TRYING, they never managed to talk me into anything I knew I could do without, and it's a good thing.

Guilty! I haven't been to the dentist for years now. Actually, when my tooth ache I just take some pain relievers or paracetamol. I guess, I'm just quite afraid of the dentist that's why. Anyway, I promise to see my dentist soon for some prophylaxis, I know I need it now.

I know many people avoid the dentist due to fear. But if you have tooth ache you must give priority to the solution otherwise it will go on increasing and you will suffer more. Take care

General oral health exams are important anyway - they don't just check your teeth but also your gums and the condition of your mouth, make sure you are screened for any cancers or infections, check your TMJ joints to make sure they are healthy, etc. It is easy to kind of not go and take care of things, I have had a few problems but NEVER any pain except when I had impacted wisdom teeth. That was awful. What's important is finding a good trustworthy friendly professional, someone to develop a positive relationship with so you feel comfortable asking for referrals, asking questions, calling their office for advice, etc. Without that, many people are NOT comfortable and will NOT go make appointments, etc.

So far all my teeth are in a healthy condition. I have never visited a dental doctor. But I myself are bothered about checking all the sides of my teeth especially inside ones. On week ends, spend 15 minutes to check them and makes sure that no harm is happening. But, an advice from the doctor is always suggested in normally cases. Regards, Thank-s

I do the same, precisely for the same reason, but I'm kind of picky for dentists so I usually go to the dentist just 6 times per year or depending how many times i travel to my country... i just go to that because have been my dentist of trust since i was 8

That's true.Because any doctor we visit must be reliable. And it is surely better to take precautions. Thanks

We visit our dentist every six months and in between if truly necessary (pain or infection, etc.) Excellent oral health will pay off in the long run. I find it digusting when young people have to wear dentures!
