iPhone application development

Hi.Do we need to have an iphone to develop and test an iphone application.Please help me understand.Thanks.

yes I guess. Those applications are made for iphone thats why there would be no way for you to test it without using an iphone. Some applications can be tested upon purchasing using itunes but with very limited features. If you are a developer, then you will be definitely needing that gadget.

Thats true for the final testing.What about the development part and oncourse simple tests.Something like a simulator would be of great help.Im not sure if thats available.

I think there are already software apps that mimics the actual iphone...it would not be logical to develop iphone app in where you really have to buy one

There may be many application around,but there is still scope for many more applications to be developed.I hope you get the point Dennis.

No, you just need to be a develper and know what you are doing. Most applications that get made for cell phones are done on computers and demo tested on them then developers simply put the finished product on the app store. Though there is such a thing as a dummy phone for demo perposes. can't use it like a regular phone, but you use it to test and modify applications.
