i accompanied my friend as he was walking his dog one day, and his little dog stopped and smelled each and every butt that he came across throughout his walk. what's wrong with him? reason i'm asking is because i'm jealous. why can't i go around and smell some nice lady's butt if i wanted too? dogs just seem to have all the fun... happy myLotting to you!

Now how do you think i should answer this? First of all sweetie, a lady's butt should never be smelled, uumm, not nice. I don't think you should try that at all. But, if you do that, you have to let us know what happened, okay. PPRROOMMIISSEE!! TATA.

If you ley him do it he must also find a lamp-post and lift his leg to pee too! He can't have only half of the cake

hi mario ^^ this is a funny question. i like it.. in your question i have been thinking about it and i believe they like to smell there butt to see if they are friends ^^ hahaha im not sure though because i am not a dog.. or smell it if it is a girl or a boy.. what i observe in my dog is he smells the butts of girl dogs. i think there smell will tell if she is a virgin or not.. i hope that helps your question.. That is a funny thought but I think it is just generally more acceptable for dogs to do that socially, however it would be a very funny thing to see us humans do that kind of greeting. That is exactly what it is like for the dogs I think just a way of greeting each other and kind of getting to know each. I don't know if it would be such a nice thing for us to do to get to know one another. But speaking of the butt, it is a thing to ponder on as it place that some of us just don't think about all too often unless we come across a conversation just like this one or similar. Well hello the hole if we were in dogs world.

from what i observe with my dogs i can say 1. say hello in dog terms 2. checking if the other dog is ok 3. something is smelly =p no.3 is really my best guess

hahaha....just imagine this dialog between dogs: dog 1: "hello..", dog 2: "hello to you too..,how're you doing?" dog 1: "i'm ok..oh, you seem to be ok too." dog 2: "really?, i smell something funny." dog 1: "that must be me telling everyone i'm ok." dog 2: "oh, ok...smell you later.." - and this whole conversation is carried out by sniffing the other dog's butt..that is so cool :)

They actually do this to identify each other. Every dog out there has their own unique smell and this is how they know each other the next time they meet. We may go by peoples faces, but dogs go by each others butts to tell each other apart.

I guess that is their nature. Even cats do that. If you see a human being smelling other's butt that is real offensive. And to look at it makes me annoy. Human have higher level of thinking compare to animals and we do not simply do that. IF you don't want to get slapped on the face do not do that.

well, as I know they do that, because they want to know is the other dog ready for some "action" if you know what I mean
