Discussions only about cricket and IPL here...

I was going through the topic lists and found that under India almost all the new discussions are about either cricket players and IPL.Are there no other topics relating to India.I know that those topics take precedence now for obvious reasons but enough is enough....Now I am sure all cricket fans and IPL fans are going to be up in arms against me
...
But honestly how much can one go on discusing about cricket and IPL?

Hi Kiran,
It is true dear, there are so many discussions on cricket and many Indians are mad on cricket
. To be very honest I got angry on seeing the topic. I like cricket but this cricket is disturbing much me on my day to day activities. I have two people at home who are mad on cricket that is the reason for my angry on cricket. I can’t watch any of my favourite program in TV and I guess you can understand my anger. Earlier I used to watch the cricket, means I had some interest but when I know about the ‘match fix’ I lost the interest and no longer watching the same.
I am leaving to my native place tomorrow and will be back after one month. See you then, take care.

Hi Sreekala, LOL I can understand how it must be to see people sitting glued to the Tv while you are hoping that the whole lots gets out and the game is over and you can take over the TV..Have a great time and a lovely vaccation at your native place and come back soon....all the best sreekala

You have something similar like me to say . There is a separate section called cricket and indian cricket and also a seperate IPL section 
. So why do people discuss those here . But if you scroll down you will find posts other than those of IPL . So don't worry , be happy .

Thank yu so much beachdune for that dressing down ( people , indeed )and silguri that makes it all the more reason for me to ask this- is cricket and IPL the only topics in India and so much so that there is a seperate section for them...we have no other issues to discuss that is as interesting I guess

Hey U,
Yes it sometimes too much and definately cricket these days is too much. Every time u turn on your Tv and u see sometyhing related to cricket which is not a good thing. And its the same with News papers too.
I love this sport a lot but then i love many other sports like gymnastics etc which has no real market in India and we can conclude y India dont get many medals in tournaments like Olympics etc.
Also we see thing which sells just as we say " JO bikta hai woh dikhta hai" so in some way or the other we ourselves are the culprit here.
BTW iam quite open to discuss anything, so put some interesting discussions and iam sure many of us will pounce on it.

! Other important things can wait. Even the electronic media and print media makes Cricket News as its front page headlines and they continue to feed the readers with such stories. You know Viswanath Anand has once again become World Chess Champion and that story was carried on back page of major English New Delhi and many would not have read that. It is Cricket and IPL, nothing else, as Cricket is going to help all of us getting rid of our problems.

I do know Deepak that we are a cricket crazy country.I too used to love watching the dignified game of cricket played by the likes of Sunil Gavaskar,Prasanna, Vengsarkar and sachin Tendulkar.But now IPL has taken over and it is showman ship and all that goes with it.I am sure most people are very happy because they get to see both their fantasies Bollywood and cricket together now .
I too felt really bad when I saw Vishwanath ananad's achievement relegated to the second page.I blame the media equally for this..

Hi Roseo, long time no seeI agree that we are having too much of cricket not only on the TV,newspapers and discussions as well.It is almost as if India has no other good sportsmen...It makes your blood boil when the government and the concerned departments are openly neglecting the other players and showering all their attention and funds on cricket players whether they deserve it or not...
