Do you like the new feature of adding smileys in discussions ?

Yeah i agree if members would be allowed to post unlimited number of smileys some members might just post more smileys than words, that might just take away the essence of quality responses.

mysdianait these things happen in shoutbox in many forums where members just reply with smileys and not with words. So definitely Mylot has put on a limit keeping that in mind.

I would be lost without them!

I use them in all of my posts (unless it is a particularly serious topic but that doesn't happen very often) and the limit of three sometimes means hat I have to go through my post again and remve seom - because I add them while typing and forget that I have already used them all up

Until the last upgrade there were only a few smilies but we asked for some more to be added and MyLot listened to our request and almost doubled them. We are still only allowed to use three though. Maybe five would be better?

thats the perfect way to describe ur liking for these smileys that you would be lost without them. Although i wouldn't feel lost but still i like making uise of them in my responses. i too feel more smileys should be added particularly the ones like ROFL and many more.

Its not been so many years off for me, i used to visit mylot every now and then but then after a while i stopped visiting for about 6 months to 1 year so thats was long time but it was just 1 year not many years. Anyway i'm liking this new feature adding smileys, you didnt use any smileys in your post i think you dont like to them much.

Hi Vive, It's nice having more smileys here. you can express what you truly feel by putting some smileys on. it's nice to know that after a break from mylot you are bakc and hopefully you stay longer and enjoy all the new features here

Yeah i'm enjoying my time here now so i feel i'm here to stay thats why i have come back even after being away for so long. Thats what makes it special that you can truly and fully express what you feel by just putting a few smileys in the discussion and it cuts short those long bunch of words as well.

it's nice to have smileys on your post,as you've said it makes the discussion lively and it's like having fun also. make yourself know others in smiles when posting your comment or response. i have known this when i got 200 posts. i'm really excited when i first know that i can make use of it.

really fun,though sometimes i also want to put more than three emoticons at my posts,specially when i have longer posts and emotions i want to share,but i have no choice,three is allowed maximum usage. well,if i have been out of emoticons already,i just do this :D same as smiling,right?

or i would like just to type like others do when they haven't reached 200 posts typing like LOL or ROTFL or hehe and hahaha

Yeah just like you i'm liking it as well. It just makes it easier for us to let others know the expression we have on our face when replying to the discussion. I too would have liked to be able to use more than three of them but i guess Mylot wants to make sure that members post quality comments and not just post these smileys. I'll use the same way as u do when i need more than three of em :) Even though i've got more than 500 posts but still i use LOL or hahah n heehee bcoz i chat a lot so these things come into my posts on their own. I like all emoticons here's something for you

Yes I love adding smileys to discussions.

But this lol is kinda not really a lol. Its just like a one big smile. Maybe I'm just used to the one in YM. I also recently just discovered how to add emoticons. Hope they add more.

But its not the usual ROFL smiley that you see everywhere else like in various forums. This one isn't quite as funny as the real ROFL smiley where the smiley actually is rolling laughing on the floor. I'll try to put a pic of that but i guess you'll already know about that one.

Hello vivek, Yes, I love the smileys and the frowneys and all the other cute cartoons. They're a lot of fun.

I've noticed them for a while and tried to use them but I didn't have enough posts to qualify.

But when I finally did reach 200 posts ( you can see that this just happened recently ), I started to go a little bit nuts with the pictures.

I, too, tried to use more than 3 just a few minutes ago and it wouldn't let me. But it's still a great feature and I think the community likes it a lot too. Interestingly, I used 3 smileys in this very discussion but when I previewd my response, they didn't show up. Hmmm, I wonder if we're limited on how many we can use per day. I have to check that out. Anyway, have fun and keep smiling with the smileys.

Yes indeed they are really lot of fun. Congrats on reaching 200 posts by the way now you can use smileys as much as you want, though only 3 smileys per response. Smileys dont show up in previes but that doesnt mean they wont show up in the actual response, its just another tweak needed to show smileys i previews and maybe mylot will address that issue sometime later but it doesnt make any difference once you know smileys will show up in the final response.

I bet it was a nice discovery to find the smileys! It doesn’t seem like such a new thing for me because I have been using them for ages and I love them too. They add emotion to the text and they are great fun to use. Not too long ago MyLot added new ones as well and that was a nice surprise. I posted a comment on another site a while ago that didn’t have the smileys facility and I really missed them!

Hi vivek: Oh my God, I haven't notice that mylot code option display the emoticons.

Of course I have seen how people used them but I didn't know how to do this and it was a little frustrating to me and well now I'll do it everytime I want to express my feelings with one of this funny faces

Hello! I know about smiley's before two months. Then I have only 170 posts and I could not use them. In school I had started hard work. I need to prepare my exams and on school I had some not maked things, and it was a reason why I left Mylot about two months. But, now I had reached more than 20 posts and I am happy for my reward. Now I can use Mylot smiley's. I be happy if Mylot add a few smiley's.

I do like using these smileys every now and then. You see if i dont i find my topics or other topics of other friends here in mylot pretty much boring. I mean specially if the topic if pretty long and you have to read alot then its gets pretty boring. But if you have lets say these cool smileys somehow the conversation lighthens a bit. Makes it a lil bit more friendly and fun to answer or comment to. Hey have a great day and thanks for sharing your cute topic. Yeah i agree as both of you said that adding smileys breaks up a logn line of words into a cute smiley, emoticons showing very much the same expression that some words would have put together so yeah its all very useful and meaningful.

yes I do Although I didn't try it before until now I think its good because it may give much more expression to us. It is much better to see a expression unlike reading it. I never thought that this mylot code smileys is new in this community well I new here I think A month old, so I think this smileys is here since mylot started by the way this feature really are helpful in making expression and also its kinda cute to place one in discussion it give more life to a discussion or responses and comments. I hope they will add more great features in this community so mylotters will be more active and enjoy more in this site, well I know that there's tons of people who are active already in this community even if there's no new features but still it make us to enjoy more.

Yeah thats why i liked this smiley feature from mylot as it allows us to add more life to the discussion and make it more lively and exciting. I've also come back to mylot after a long time, its been just a week for me that i started to be very active again here. Smiley by the way have not been here since the start of Mylot but its just one of those fantastic new innovations Mylot keeps adding to make it better for us. Surely there will be more such features added to Mylot as has been the trend that Mylot has been carrying out and making everything better around here.

I dont think it bothers reading, since we are allowed to use only three it only makes sense to use them wisely with appropriate sentences in a response. I think it just adds bit more colour an livelyness to the discussions.

Adding smileys to your discussions and responses makes things alittle easier on the eye to read. I also think more people should add more pictures to there topics of conversation and responses, simply because.. A picture paints a thousand words.

The smiley's thing has been around for about a year and a half, but I am sure you probably know this by now as this discussion was posted a week ago and I am sure many people have already told you. I used to use them a lot when they first came out but recently I haven't used them at all and probably should start using them again. Yeah many members have told me that smileys have been around for more than a year. Like i said i was away when smileys were introduced here so thats why it was all new for me when i cam back to mylot again. I've been using them since i found out how to use them but ever since i posted this discussion mylot members have told me that adding smileys is definitely a better way of expressing our emotions and expressions and i've started using them more than i used to use before. Ofcourse if we earn more money we will all be loving it even more.

That might be a preventive measure from Mylot to stop new users from spamming the posts with just smileys and that might spoil the quality of discussions. After all mylot would have thought about it before making these rules.
