My husband LOVES the stuff, but me not so much... He will eat it 4 or 5 times a week! Im disgusted with the stuff but he has a taste for it! So I let him have it! But is it safe to eat that much raw fish all the time???

When I was in Japan I always eat sushi also. It taste so good and I'm sure this is not going to be getting any bad effects to our health as long as the raw fish you eat is fresh and that is Japanese people do.

Hi, I love to eat sushi, but I never touch those raw fishes. I don't eat raw fishes, taste weird to me. Normally I will just go for those cooked sushi type. The most I like is Tamago,it taste nice n superb. I will eat those sushi with the soya sauce, but not the Wasabe.I don't like the wasabe taste. So weird for me. Sometimes, I will go for the set meal too like tempura set or teriyaki chicken set meal.

Given all the problems with mercury in fish. I would say it's not healthy to eat it everyday. However, very few things are healthy if eaten every day. For example, eating too many carrots can turn you orange. As I said in another post, my really good friend and mentor may she rest in peace had a saying: "Everything in moderation including moderation."

Some species of fish, including salmon and tuna that is widely used for sushi ingredients, have a high mercury content. So you should not eat too many of the fish. Recommendation fish consumption should not exceed 150 grams per week.

My husband is the same way! The fish is not fatty though and as long as it is fresh it is safe! It could get expensive everyday though!!

Hi ceecee! I think sushi is safe because Japanese also eat on a daily basis, and sometimes more than once a day. However, it should be really cleansed to avoid bacteria.

YES! Absolutely. Fish in general is good for your health, but sushi's the best. That's why Japanese people are so healthy.

Sushi is actually pretty healthy, so I think your husband should be fine. The only people who should try to avoid sushi are pregnant women apparently (because of something raw in the fish), so unless he is one, you have no need to worry! ;) I think sushi is okay, but I don't like to eat it too often. My fiancee however, would also eat it every single day if he could.
