Where do you prefer to work...government or private?

Some people when I asked them they wanted to work in government for the purpose of security..because it is said to be that when you are already in the government the items is yours forever unless you resign/retire or else committed an administrative offense. Some others also said that you're not well compensated in the government unlike in private institution. What about you? where do you want to belong in government or in private?
