A nice vacation would do just fine. Going to an isolated but relaxing resort would be one of the best way to reduce your stress level! What other way can you relieve your stress?

My budget is always tight and this is one thing that gives me stress, too. And my solution to de-stressing myself is very simple. Have to watch a movie, at home or in the mall, the funny one but not cartoon, I mean comedy. After that, I will consume the rest of the day walking inside the mall to feel and enjoy the coolness of the surroundings. When I get tired, I will find a place where I can sit and solve some sudoku puzzle. By the time I go home, I am ok already and as soon as I reach home, I usually hit the bed as fast as I can so stress won't overcome my being. Waking up in the morning, I feel relaxed and refreshed.

Yeah you are right sherbeauty, but the thing is, problem is problem until it is solved. Our solution to stress brought by some problems are just temporary and doesn't mean it won't haunt us back. But for the time being, the burden that we carry in our shoulders is quite lifted out even for a while.

Thats the part i can agree with you with; if it is resolved it is resolved then it shouldn't be coming back to haunt. That simple mean it was just push to the back for a later date to be resolved. When an issue is resolved it may be remembered yes but wont haunt. It will only be there to guide you through your journey as a reminder so you wont end up in the same trap, but it wont haunt you.

Hi Webzap, Thats nice as long as its not just push back and will come back to haunt you. I know the feeling when you don't have the funds to do the stuff you want to do, but there is so going to the beach just to sit and relax. Some times its nice find somewhere cool and quite to go and just relax you would be surprise to know how much burden has been lifted off your shoulder.

for me,the best stress-busters are: - a huge shopping spree without the guilt - watching funny movies - hanging out with friends - a vacation in a beach house or a house with a pool

dear coco.. all the choices are very costly affairs.. who would be bearing the bill? ... :P just asking. and, if you choose the last option... a vacation in a beach house... do you mind some company. If you have someone else to foot the bill, May I join piggy-back..

Spending time with close friends or family members would be a great idea. Just chill out, go for a Karaoke or something.. and then go supper and talk the night away. That's pretty relaxing for me. Other than that, chilling out at home, listening to songs or watch videos.. anything at all. Going for a stroll can relax the mind too and relieve one of stress..

I think, stress is the greatest problem that I am having. When I'm stressed, I like to be alone and I often listen to rock music so that I could cheer myself up. By the way, I don't stress out other people which will just make things even more worse. I like being quiet, and most of the time I just sleep on what's bothering me at the moment. If I am stressed about the heat in our country though, I take showers or just dive in a nearby pool. In general, I like keeping myself from the rest of the world. At least that way, I find something I enjoy for example food or a good movie. I even prefer practicing breathing exercises or yoga.If I feel bad about the calories, I quote Elle Woods from Legally Blonde: "Exercise gives you endorphins. Endorphins make you happy.."

The best way for me to relieve stress is going to my hometown. When I am in my hometown which is 5 hours away from my workplace, I really feel the effect that I dont have to worry about my job. I am able to wake up late and I dont have to worry about cooking breakfast or any meals at all. I also dont have to do house work so its really the best way for me and my husband to relieve stress.

Ok nice to know. Some of us have to do the work still but there can be so much fun in doing the work; by putting on some good lod music while you do the work. Also exercise is another way of relieving your stress. Thanks alot for your input.

For cheaper way to relieve stress, I just took a nice and sound sleep. But if I have a budget a nice vacation or trip out of town will do. Sometimes I even treat myself for a shopping spree, a massage, a visit to the salon, or having manicure and pedicure :)

lols. I remember some old cartoon show, where the stressed out employee, keeps pressing a button called DE-STRESS. and, it is implied through that cartoon, that one can get relief from the stress just by trying to do something else from the routine. I would also do what you recommended. Going on a nice vacation .. recently .. over a month ago, took the family too, to a summer holiday-resort. and, In routine life, I would just hum a tune, and keep reading something other than medicine... mostly fiction, to relieve me of the stress caused by diseased patients around me. thanks

Yes that could work as well also did you know that listening to some soothing music can help relieve your stress. Music is the art of magic or you could say medicine.

There are lots of ways to reduce stress, but the most effective one always depends on who you are. I find vacations to be fairly stressing because I always think of what I need to get done at home and I'm really not able to relax if I'm away from home for more than a couple of days. Yoga is a really good relaxer for me. I absolutely love feeling my muscles stretch and relax as I do yoga and the breathing helps me center myself and clear my thoughts for a little while. Any sort of exercise, in general, as long as you like it, should help relieve at least some stress because they release endorphins. I also like to listen to music when I'm stressed, especially classical music, because it helps me to relax a little bit and just lay there and listen to such pretty music instead of having to be up and constantly going and going.

Wow how can i forget yoga yes indeed. But remember when you go on a vacation it is to get away from all the stress back home. You should be enjoying yourself and be more relax sorry to hear it does the opposite for you. You should try putting everything behind you and live for the moment when you next go on a vacation.
