1) You should check out the 2 newly opened Integrate Resorts, Resort World Sentosa and Marine Bay Sand. You should also check out the Sentosa Island is you decide on the former. To name a few places that you might want to visit are: i) Flyer (fee chargeable). Recommended to go in the daytime when the sky is clear. You can see the some islands from Indonesia ii) Pulau Ubin (SGD$5 for the 2 way bum ride). This island is the only Kampong left in Singapore. Rent a bicycyle and check out the island. A must-see, Chek Jawa. iii) Fort Canning (free). A place where the ancient ruler lived. Also the place where the British defended the country during World War 2. iv) Ford factory (free). A historical place where to British surrended to the Japanese. v) South ridges (free). A connector that joins all the parks in the Southern part of the country. Must check out Labrador Park. vi) Geylang (free). Red light district which is also famous for its food. 2) As above. 3) There are plenty of budget hotels around. Some can go as cheap as $35 per night. Most of them can be found at Geylang or Chinatown. 4) There are just to many food to name. Chilli crab, laksa, Bak Kut Tea, Nasi Lemak to name a few. 5) You can check out Chinatown or Little India for some souvenirs. If you are planning to get IT stuffs, check out Funan Centre.

Two days is pretty short if you ask me. Maybe you can share with us what is your interest and what do you like to see most. In that way, maybe some of us can provide some advise targetted to it.

Bak Kut Teh is cooked in a traditional way, it is pork cooked with herbs in a soup form, usually taken with rice. It's difficult to describe Singapore to you, so pls come and experience soon. If 2 days is not enough, extend your stay or come again

you shouldn't miss going to sentosa. i believe it's the heart of tourism in singapore. the place is packed with various attractions so going there is worth every dime. don't and i mean DON'T let your vacation pass without seeing Songs of the Sea. watching this is one of the most magical moments of my life. you can buy REALLY CHEAP souvenirs at Lucky Plaza Mall in Orchard. i don't know much about cheap accommodations since i stayed with my relatives in a condo they rent. lastly, you would spend money everywhere you go in singapore. it's inevitable unless you decide to just roam around in feet :D

hi there! thank you for the response. i heard that the cost of living in SG is quite expensive. am sure that includes the prices for transportation. oh my, i just hope i don't blow off the money that i saved for this trip. all i want is to see the best views and places, eat the food that SG is known for, and just buy little stuff for the people at home. i just hope that Universal Studio doesn't cost that much..i badly want to go there.

Hello goddessjes, I am not too sure what you are interested in, however Singapore is know for its shopping. To get souvenirs, I think you could go to Chinatown or little India. You should try the Indian food if your stomach can take spicy food. There is also the Malay village. If you are really into shopping then, I suggest lucky plaza or funan centre. but remember these place you might want to bargain a little as the tend to bully tourist. So do not just take they first quote. If you managed to find, I would recommend you go to old airport road hawker centre. Most of the food there are up to standard ( for Singaporean stomach ). For cheap accommodation, you should try Victoria Street, the rates are more reasonable, however it is still near town. The recent added attraction would be the Resort world in Sentosa, or the flyer near marina. Just let me know if you want anything more.

Hi goddessjes! I love to welcome you and your friend to our garden city. There are just too many things I can think of to fill your itinerary with lots of choices to make your stay here a wonderful experience. a. There are some major ethnic districts to savor the customs, traditions, fashion delicacies, architecture and lots of shopping and souvenir-hunting from: Chinatown, Arab Street, Geylang, Little India, The Peranakan Museum, the ultra modern Orchard Rd. b. Among the top tourist attractions are: The Singapore Zoo, The Bird Park, The Night Safari (opens only at night), Sentosa (by road, light train or cable car from Mt Faber)(Sentosa has a wide variety of attractions from the beach, Underwater World, Butterfly Gdn, Resorts World attractions of a mini disneyland), The Singapore Flyer, The Botanical Gardens, The Merlion Park (is a must see), c. Food is readily available from roadside vendors, to food courts, cafeterias and restaurants. Something uniquely local would include: Chilli crabs, chicken/duck rice, satay (barbequed meat on skewers with peanut sauce and rice cakes, cucumbers and onions), a wide variety of Chinese noodles, a wide variety of european cuisnes, a wide variety of Indian cuisines that include bryani rice. d. The Orchard Rd belt all the way south to the Marina Bay is lined with hotels both competitive and 5-star rated. You may have heard of YMCA, Hotel 81 chain and the like. e. Ask the Concierge in the hotel for free and easy city tours, trishaw tours or the free shuttles to some (not all) major attractions. f. Alternative you may wish to purchase a tourist ticket that allows you to hop from buses to Mrt trains. The buses and the Mrt line connect Changi Airport to down town. There are taxis obviously but there is a surcharge of S$3.00 (if there is no increase). Brochures are readily available at the airport or you may wish to ask the info desk at the arrival hall. g. If you shop for electricals and electronics especially, you may wish to ask the shop on how you could get your GST (Goods and Services Taxes of 7% be refunded, maybe not from the shop but at the airport before you depart home). Enjoy your stay!

Hi goddessjes, First let me welcome you to Singapore! You can refer to the website here for information: www.yoursingapore.com/content/traveller/en/experience.html There are information on food and accomodation here. The hottest thing right now is of course our Universal Studio which has just opened, you might need one whole day for that so maybe it would be to go there if you are here longer. Recommended places for daytime: a) Shopping: Orchard Road, City Hall, Bugis Junction b) Arts and culture: Art Museum/ Asian Civilization Museum/ Chinatown c) Places of Interest: Sentosa d) Nature: Southern Ridges, Botanical Garden Night-time: Clark Quay, Boat Quay, Esplanade (Merlion) Must try food: chicken rice, chilli crab + other seafood, laksa, chinese tim sum, char kuay teow.... and try the tea/coffee in the traditional coffee shops, these are usually cheap and good. When you first come, check at the airport for a tourist pass so you can reduce on transport cost. Let me know if you want further information, I'll be glad to help.

no problem, pm me anytime, I'll try to reply you as much as possible. Laksa is a type of spicy food, white noodles cooked in curry gravy and it's delicious! Try the roast chicken rice first, look out for boneless ones where the bones have already been removed for easier eating.
