"Add Comment "button addition

I think mylot should add "add comment" button for each responses and comment. If someone respond to discussion and his response received comment by other member (not the starter of discussion) then when the starter want to comment on response too, his comment will be notify to the member who comment the response first. By adding "add comment" button for each responses and comments, there are possibility to receive multiple comment from some members.
Example: I made discussion and toffer respond to my discussion. Then, oldchem comment to toffer's response and toffer receive email notification that he receive comment on his response. When I comment back on toffer response, the notifier will send to oldchem. As if, I comment on oldchem's comment, whereas I want to comment on toffer's response. If there is "add comment" button both under toffer's response and oldchem's comment, then I just need to click on "add comment" button under toffer's response and notifier will send to toffer.
What do you think about my opinion?

I think I can understand what you are saying.
At the moment only the responder will receive notifiers of all further comments in their box but those who add the comments will not receive them - is that it?
The problem is that even the notifiers that should be arriving are very few and far between a lot of the time 
In some of the response boxes there are long chains of comments and I keep up with those by keeping the discussions open in a seperate tab.
I think that if we could add a comment to a specific comment it might break up the flow of the discussion, especially in those where there are several Lotters all discussing under one response.

@ mysd, when is the rest of the world asleep? With people from all over the world here and this being the internet so open 24/7,

Hatley I know exactly what you mean! Mine fills up too and the only way that I can clear them is to choose a day and get up early while the rest of the world is still sleeping

mysdianait help help help any m ore notifications in my email I am going to run screaming into the street I now have 300 notifications in my email all from mylot today where before only fifty or so. help nobody add anymore notifications my box will not hold them.I am only one person
with 800 some friends. enough already lol lol lol.

I would personally liked to be notified when I leave comments in others responses instead of keeping the window open all day. Especially after a day I close then if someone commented to me in someone else's box 3 days from now I would never know. I think I loose out because this feature doesn't exist. Maybe on GAA, next discussion of what we would like to see change we can sugest this feature to be added. Although I bet that more work than we realize would be involved, not even sure if it's possible. Wish I was more computer literate to better understand what would be involved.

Thank you beaniefanatic. Notifier is helpful, at least for me. I usually check my email first when connected to the internet. I will respond to discussions started or comment if it's need to be replied.
You are right, if mylot want add this feature, they should work very hard. It's very complicated but I am sure, if they want they could make it. I believe there is nothing impossible. If they can't make it with this style of discussions, maybe they change the discussion format to be more friendly, fun and informative.

so thoroughly confused by all the comments I just would go to the various discussions and leave my comments whenever I feel like. I have three hundred notifications in my email this morning so no I do not need any more notifications on comments on comments on comments

For me, notification is important. Notifier let me know that my response got new comment by the other. Indeed, I don't receive many notifications like you. I only get 20-30 notification everyday. I turn on friend notification for some active friends who active comment back on my response. I will turn off friends notification if my friends active start discussions but never comment back on my response. Furthermore, I don't make many response a day. It's just around 20-30 post a day and not all of them got comment.

i was reading two times and than i understud what you mean (i think i am still sleeping)... i was thinking about it before.. i hate when in my discussion i can not add a comment... only answer in others responses... sometimes i need to write for couple of times the same... it makes me crazy...

But we can add comments anywhere.
If there are several users in one response box and you want to comment to one specific user then you can type '@ username X' before your comment.
You can use the smilies now you know. You will see them under 'myLot code' to the left of the box where you type.

@darbas_namie, I am sorry, My English is not good so you have too read my discussion twice to understand.
@mysdianait, You are right, I always use @username if I want my comment is intended to someone. However, It's not satisfy me since the notify will send to one person. For this case, notify will send to you, mys. I think it's better if we are allowed post comment on each response or comment and notify send directly to the person who intended by the comment.

I think I can understand your meaning clearly! I remember once there was a discussion which discussed a similar problem. It's about the discussion starter can not be notified when his/her comment being responded. It's a process like below:
A started a discussion; B responded it, simultaneously A received a notification; then A commented back; but when B him/herself or C, D... commented again to respond A's comment, A could not be notified any more.
What you said is a good solution of the above problem. But I think it's technically difficult to build such a complicated database. All the forums I have seen till now only has two level - "theme" and "reply", except myLot which is the only one support three level - "discussion", "response" and "comment". Have you seen an forum can support four or more? to say nothing of what you said theoretically needs infinite levels.

Thank you qianyun, you are clearly understand what is in my mind. I don't know whether the programmer could make it. The script could be very complicated. If they add comment button for every comment, is it would help the programmer to simplify the problem?
In facebook, there is only comment button. We may only comment on others post. When the owner of the post want to comment back to every comment, he pr she has to write @username:.... If mylot could make multilevel discussion, perhaps mylot will be the one and the best!

No absolute pun intended but I had to read your discussion three times before I could decipher what exactly you were saying.
If I understood it correctly it would be useful for some, however there are a great number of members who do never even reply to their own started discussions so I think that would increase the no response rate anyways.

For some members who like to discuss anything seriously, not for money purpose only, they will love to receive notification if someone replies, responds or comments their post. This is the purpose of add comment button for every post. We can comment on every post specifically and we could know if we get comment. Currently, we can’t receive notify for multi stage comment unless we visit the discussion again to see whether someone comment on our post.
