Endless Love has to end!

I do hold the networks responsible for the television programs they air for the entertainment of the people. But could somebody please tell GMA that the Ding=dong-Marian serial entitled Endless Love is lame, plot-wise and character-wise. I had been watching it for some four episodes now and all I can get is Jenny and a Johnny and vice versa and nothing else. Production=wise, it is commendable though. What else can I say? Nothing more. I guess.

I don't like the show but two of my housemates are going gaga over it. So that's 1 is to 2 and in favor of the continuous airing of Endless Love with Marian and Dingdong. I wonder why they have to remake things. Why can't they just air the original version?

eichs, perhaps the producers believe that we could relate more if the actors are our own. I also go for the original, even if the language is dubbed.

I got hooked with Asian telenovelas some four months ago. I noticed that the Koreans and the Taiwanese/Chinese utilize plots/characters from classic books or old American movies. But they sort of made it their own. It is interesting that the television industry had joined the mainstream globalization. The students at the university lobbies are humming Korean tunes and singing Chinese songs. I used to sing Voltes V in '79. I don't know yet the effect of this teleseryes on primetime tv. Currently, Bruce Lee legend is attracting viewers. Sigh! You are correct, somebody must come up with refreshing stories.

I share the same observation. I have noticed that there are less and less imaginative people in the local showbusiness industry. Stories and plots are borrowed from foreign movies. I is not actually the actors fault but more of the "behind-the-scene" people specially the writers and the directors. I personally prefer local movies and "teleseryes" with original stories and plots and not just dubbed foreign shows.

Hi Eileen, I am frustrated too. I expected so much from the said pinoy version of my favorite "endless love telenobela"...but GMA failed to make it. I feel like Dingdong and Marian is not the pair for it. maybe a new pair will do. they are over expose to playing such role. i don't have anybody in mind to be the best pinoy GMA pair for now but definitely not dingdong and marian. 'though i am a fan before when they did the pinoy version of "marimar".

So, I see, Endless Love is a Korean telenovela remake! I think GMA has to pay us for intellectual assessment of their shows.

well, what can you expect if they are trying to imitate everything in the already made korean Novela. i think it's better if they make new ones themselves, they think every remake will be watched, which is not cool if they do that all the time.

I don't watch the show.. well I really don't watch any koreanovela remake. I think the main charm of korean shows is you don't know the actors portraying the roles so its easily to relate to them. The actress who played Jenny in the original endless i still dont know her name till now i just know her as jenny in endless love. So if its played by a famous actors here it just lost the charm it had before. I think the reason why you like marimar its because marian back then is almost unknown i dont even know her last name when she played marimar so it gave the character a little mystery in a way.

The show is broadcasted here in the Philippines by GMA Network. I forgot the networks international station... I think it's something like PinoyTV... not really sure...

Hello Eileen, I know why you feel that way, that's because we have too much and way too many drama series everysingle day for almost half a decade. that when this show started airing, things weren't as exciting as ever in the Korean Version of Endless Love. i think there is nothing more since they imitate everything even the plot of the whole story this is sad, everything just for the ratings...

Very true! But come to think of it, even reality tv and game shows and vaudevilles had been exhausted. We must come up with new ideas for better viewing.

I have never watched that soap but from the way you guys sound... I don't think I'll ever watch it... LOL I admit 'Marimar' with the Dingdong-Marian tandem was a big hit. But I don't think they'd fit the role on Endless Love because I think their chemistry is more on being physical... I hope the writers would put on a little twist or maybe a little pinoy flavor on the soap to make it unique even though it's a remake.

I yet have to see Dingdong act well. Had he ever acted on a role aside from that of being a love interest? With Marian, she has a good voice and an angelic face. With the few episodes I saw her on, she seems obedient to the director and conscious about the camera. Well, I have to limit my comments here because i have not viewed much really.

Haha that's what you get from a lame network with lame script writers and lame directors. The artists have potential but that's it. Some of the staff have potential but their writers, producers, and directors are holding them back. The funny thing about this is they're very boastful and proud. What a lethal combination.

Hi x! What is this generalization all about? We are not pitting channels against each other here. For all I care, I only want the level of viewing upgraded from flimsy characters and plots. That is too much for me to ask, I know, because there are audiences who like simple love stories. I just want GMA to produce more believable stories. Endless Love does not happen to everyone. Still, truth is stranger than fiction, GMA might contend.
