Suppose, you meet someone in the street, someone whom you know bad mouthing you. What are you going to do? will you still greet him/her or just pretend that you don't see him/her?

I have actually found that the best thing to do in a situation like that is to be so nice and sweet to them that it is sickening. You see, people bad mouth others in order to drag them down to their level. Normally the person who has done the bad mouthing is jealous or scared of that person. What they want is for you to get angry and flustered - the more angry and flustered you get, the more chance you have of looking like a fool, which is what they want. I have seen people down the street who have bad mouthed me. If they see me, I smile and make a point of being nice to them, but only if they see me. If they don't, great! It really doesn't bother me.... =)

mortysmadhouse, what you said is a godly thing and i like that! I remember what Jesus said in the Bible, do good to them that hurt you. God will bless you for being what you are! Keep it up

Someone has badmouthed me before, and after she did that, we even became officemates, but as hard as it was, I tried my best to be civilized and talk to her when it comes to jobs. But I don't want to be a hypocrite to pretend that we can still be friends since she had shown her true colors and spread rumors that were never true and didn't happen. Only to find out in the end that the things she was accusing me of is exactly what she was doing. And karma, even before, was "digital". So what she had done to me, stroked back double time to her...anyway, whenever I see her, its either I pretend not to see her or I make a detour. I know it is bad to have ill feelings towards someone, but I guess it is much better than being a hypocrite to show that you like to see someone but in reality I can't stand even a mere sight of her...just being real...

thanks for reply bokal2703. It is true that what you sow is what you reap. The sad thing is that, you reap more than what you sow! Any thing you do, whether good or bad... that will strike back to you. Therefore, do good and you will receive double good things. Hope it will be a lesson for everyone not to talk bad against others
