Are you environmentally friendly?

Do you bring your own shopping bag when doing your groceries. Do you turn off the light when you leave a room or use a fan instead of the air-conditioner when it turns warm. Do you turn off equipment when they are not in use (for example the PC) or print double-sided documents (whenever possible). Do you sort out the plastic bottles from the glass ones and conscientiously putting them into recycling bins. The list goes on and on but how else can we save Mother Gaia?

I think I have done most of these things, but it is difficult to motivate others to do the same. Even with our scarcity of water, I don't see people conserving as much as they should. We might not see the consequences of our doings but generations to come certainly will.

I think it is a lifestyle thing. I cringe everytime I have to print an internal timesheet printout on good paper. I try very much to recycle the paper I use. I think adults have to lead the way for children to follow.

Yes but if the adults themselves do not have this mindset, how will it be passed down?

exactly. It is imperative that adults have this mindset failing which Mother Earth will just suffer.

I do all the things on your list and much more. I try to be the best friend Mother Earth has. But, you know, She hasn't too many friends. I'm afraid there are too many people who don't care about recycling or saving the Earth's resources.

It really is important for the Green cause to benefit for the authorities support. But I think it is not enough. You see, in my town, the authorities have installed some new, modern recycling bins for paper, glass and plastic two years ago. Ask me how many people use them. My answer will be: too few! The city hall even gave all the citizens free buckets to use them for collecting recycled materials, but no, it's easyer for people to throw the garbage in only one bin...

I think most countries have a group to champion the Green cause but really I think the government should be proactive perhaps too by offering some rebates for companies that observe Green causes.

Yes i reuse shopping bags until they wore out. My mother trained me to always turn off the lights when not in use. In our laboratory, however, we need the air-conditioner to keep our samples. It is our SOP also to turn off all the equipments after using. I do print double-sided documents to save bond papers, sort out and recycle plastics. Additionally, i throw my garbage properly. chocolates, chips or plastic cups. in school, i do wait until i find a garbage can or i just put them on my bag. this is a good campaign carpediem17.
