This Has To Be The Most Highly Amusing Thing I've Seen In Ages! Ha Ha Ha!

Monchengladbach Hockey Pitch - This was installed just 4 years ago for International Hockey matches! LOL

I just had to share this!!! It's priceless!! The Australia v England Hockey Match is being televised in England, live from Monchengladbach. The stadium houses and artificial pitch.. hold that thought! Ok... the hockey match was going great, when all of a sudden, the heavens opened and chucked out about half an inch of rain, onto this artificial pitch. I'll give the Germans their due... they DO have a sense of humour. Without delay, they put on a record.... "It's Rainin' Again!" To this tune, supporters were running for cover all over the place... it was teeming down! The record finished, and they put on another... ha ha ha, so funny... this time, it was "It's Rainin' Men!" The rain eased a little bit, leaving water all over the artificial surface, so out came... wait for it... about a dozen guys with wooden "pushers" pushing the water off the pitch, and a Goony Bird mascot! Ha ha ha ha ha. No sucking machine... just these guys, moving the water. Then, guess what... the heavens opened aGAIN! How funny! These poor guys, fighting against the odds with silly records playing in the background. Now... I'm laughing even more... to the cheers of the supporters left in the stadium, there are five guys, abreast of each other, putting their "pushers" together and running at the water. It's still raining though! Not as hard, granted, but as fast as they sweep it off, it's coming back again! ha ha ha ha ha. Ohhhhhhhhh dear! Sorry to laugh, but surely the International Hockey Fed. could afford a water sucking machine. Those poor guys must be soaked!!! The crowd are behind them, but they deserve a medal! What are your views on artificial pitches without drainage? What are your feelings for these poor stewards... they're worn out, I might add....... annnnnnnd, it's STILL raining!!!!

It never rains on a Hockey game in Canada. Snow or freezing sleet, but never rain. Hockey was invented on a frozen lake with ice several feet thick. I used to enjoy watching a hockey game, but when it became professional and money was involved, fighting was permitted to raise the excitement level. Players have been carried off the ice with broken necks, and other lacerations, while the antagonists received a slap on the wrist, and a warning not to hit so hard next time! There is nothing amusing about a hockey game in Canada!

Hiya Darkwing, Well you would have thought that they would have used their Head a bit and had some kind of preparation for when things like that go wrong. I would have thought they could have set up a drainage system capable enough of taking a good deal of the water below ground level at least. Well I could be talking through the top of my hat but that is what I would have done some kind of system that does not have to cost the earth. Even so it does sound funny but not so funny for the poor People trying their best to keep out the water. Well I never I thought everything was all modernized in those kind of games now.
