I woke up this morning gasping for air and chest pain. I suffer chest pain and breathing problem 2 months ago but this month is worst. I can't breathe normally and my activities are limited. I'm worried why i often feel this. The last time i had my checked up my physician told me to undergo 2D echo every 3 years. So, i still have 1 year to undergo routine test. I'm scared and i don't want to undergo a surgery. Do you have a major health problem? Does it affect your life style? How do you handle and take care of it?

Hi, Maylaine. You're working as a? Maybe you're stressed out? As what you stated it seems that you're a workaholic. Take advantage of your absents. Have a complete bed rest and a healthy diet. Why you're saying your alone? No one's there to take care of you or you're alone because you're not use to be at home for that long? Get well soon.

Data Analyst? I'm only familiar with data encoder. You're a call center agent? You're from a province? can't your family visit you? How about your partner? You need to rest 1 week or more to feel better and eat lot's of noodles. You have flu?

I got hurt on my lower back when I was working. And now, I couldn't lift heavy stuff. I have to sleep on a hard mattress and couldn't do a labour job. I need to use a chinese herb oil everyday, but it's getting better. I tried some chinese acupuncture, it helps as well. Good to have a platform to complain....

You should get a second opinion. So you would definitely know what's the cause of all your chest pain. And a little bit of exercise might help. And stay away from pollution, or smokers. But if this is hereditary, your doctor should know, and you should have a prescription for it. I don't have a major health problem - knock on wood. Be well!

Yes, i do have medicine but i'm only allowed to take it if my pulse rate is beyond normal. I still have it on my wallet in case of emergency they know what to do. The physician who checked on me our couples. Her wife is my pulmo. when i complaint about chest pain she undergo me 2D Echo with her husband. I do have trauma in seeing other physician who doesn't know my history because i was given wrong medication before and it almost kill me. If i do have a chance to seek for second opinion maybe my physician can refer me to her close friend. Thanks for the advice.

Dont let it affect you, Nervousness is your culprit, you can have your 2d or 3D echo anytime to check your health status, Just Relax, do some exercises, eat healthy foods, and the best is spiritual healing.

Lately? Nuh-huh! I don't want too. I don't want to expose my body to strangers. Once is enough. Maybe, a foot massage will do but not full body massage without clothes on. I don't like the feeling.

Is it possible it's pleurisy? That causes you not to be able to take deep breaths without experiencing pain so it feels like you can't really inhale. If it's pleurisy it isn't a big deal. It can just be treated with prescription medication and a doctor can detect it with a simple X-Ray. I was diagnosed with it a couple of years ago, but it went away within a week of taking my medicine. I also have asthma, so sometimes I wake up at night gasping for air, but I have an inhaler for that.

No, i don't think so. 2 years ago i was diagnosed with Mitral Valve Prolapse and our last option would be heart surgery. So, i strictly pay attention to doe's and don't. I'm scared, so scared. I don't wanna undergo surgery and i don't wanna die at very young age too. I do also have asthma and gladly this month i'm okay. I'm using nasal spray to avoid allergens. I'm curios with pleurisy. I haven't encountered that term when i was still in medical school. I'll ask my physician about that.

Do u suffer from asthma? IF not, u better see a doctor soon, but not wait for the 3 years to be up. Chest pains and breathing problem can be serious, especially when it can be linked to heart attacks. Dun be surprised by suffering from it, at a young age. It can strike anybody regardless of age. It's best that u see a doctor now, get it cured or keep it under control as soon as possible

I am fortunate not to have a major health problem that I am aware of but I do have a friend who will be undergoing a kidney transplant on October 15. She has 7% kidney function and her sister is flying to Australia from the U.K. to donate one of her kidneys to her sister. She is not on dialysis yet and has an enormous amount of energy for someone in her condition although she has very bad days at times. I am sorry you feel so concerned for your health; I will send you some prayers and I hope you feel much better soon…

Hello, Paula. How are you? It's been a while since last time you drop by(nah... how can you participate in my discussion if i don't have new one). So, your friend still confined? How hope her operation will be successful and her body will adopt the new organ. It's a risky procedure and it's not a 100% assurance that she'll recover even the kidney matches her. Prayers for your friend and to the medical team that will handle her. Thank you for the your concern and prayers. Everyday i feel better.

Hi! Yes, it's in the genes. When i was born i was left for a week in the hospital for incubation but we never thought it would be a health threat. When i was still studying i feel normal and i passed the routine medical check up(Well, simple laboratory test though). What I'm aware of is that i have asthma so it made me active in sports. Never in my wildest dream that I'll be diagnosed with a major major problem, MVP. Anyway, you're lungs saved you. in anyway you're lucky not to experience being dried under the sun as what dried fish and mango experienced. Dried mango in cebu is so yummy.lol I hate that so much! Oh, yeah! I remember that. You're scared of the result. You're also a denial queen.hahaha

Hi. Glad to hear that. in any way i am partly to be blamed of my health condition. I was irresponsible when i was younger, doesn't care at all. I abused my body. Well, it's not too late for a clean living right? I Think i need exercise. My physician advised me though but laziness eats me.

Hi dear, I doubt you have the problems with ‘asthma’. The issues related to breathing can be of asthma and you need to get the treatment form the doctor. If it treat from the beginning, it can be cured and it will trouble you in as the age goes on. So, get an advice from the doctor and do the check up and treatment as per his advice. Regards, Thank-s

There's no cure for it. My health problem is irreversible so i have to deal with it for the rest of my life. One thing i can do is to live a healthy life style which is hard to do. I am tempted do eat bad foods sometimes. When it comes to asthma I'm used to it. I can manage when it attacks me.

Ei. My sister is suffering that syndrome too. She grind her teeth while asleep but she told us she's no longer grinding her teeth as what her husband observed. we never know. She's using mouth piece every time she go to sleep. How about you? So, What's the cause of your TMJ? You have vertigo? You have medicines for that? You should be accompanied all the time.

Oh it does. health condition is number 1 priority, can do anything if you don't feel well. even a mild fever can affect your daily task. we should learn how to take a rest, eat the proper food. control our vices such as smoking and drinking doesnt mean to it but be moderate. be careful every one!!! PEACE!!!

I've had asthma since the age of three and in the early years I really had quite serious asthma attacks but now I'm in control of my asthma thankfully. I have noticed that my asthma gets better or worse according to the weather conditions. When it's cold I have to use my inhaler a lot more as opposed to when it's warm and sunny. I love keeping fit though and I cycle and swim on a regular basis and I have noticed that this definitely helps my asthma and after a good swim I notice that my lungs have extra capacity in terms of being able to take in more air, at least it feels like that. I have never had surgery or anything like that and I would not be that keen! I would be quite worried about being knocked out by gas and have the surgeons do their thing on me! Overall my health isn't too bad and I suppose you always find some way to cope with any condition that you have. Andrew

hi there simonelee, my parents told me that when i was young my body was really weak, i hospitalized lots of times just because of my teeth ( everytime i got additional tooth i suffered for dehydration and need to confined to have dextrose). im very easy to get cough and colds and fever! but still even im so thin that time im very active playing outside the house and even for extra curricular activity and sports in school. when i was in college because i didnt take care that much of my body i develop to have asthma. im a varsity player that time. i need to stop all my sports and pay attention to my health 1st because everytime my asthma attacked its a nonstop cough and it really kills me. and i also become very sensitive w/ a lot of things. but because i was not born w/ asthma the doctor old me that w/ just proper medication and rest and extra effort to pay attention on my health everything will be back into normal.. im now working w/ this company for almost 7 years. on m 1st year i observed that i suffer chest pain. it feels like that my heart stop beating in a seconds. then it become severe so i decided to see a doctor. i also undergo w/ some test. i was diagnosed having a sinus bradycardia or having abnormally slow heartbeat. compare to you this is very simple problem. my doctor told me i got this because of i just stop my regular sports (because of my asthma when i was in college). i need to get back on my sport or do exercise w/ proper medication and regular check up. i follow all the doctor advice and 2 years ago im all cleared w/ my asthma and heart problem (but the medication makes me gained weight!!!!) :D

I have a number of health problems and they do affect my day to day activities too. It hurts me more not to be able to play with children. I have started exercising regularly and hope to at least control my pain and become more flexible. Am trying to become healthier and better in the next one year. That is how much time I have given myself to become fit.

yeah, as expected any kind of health problem will affect our lives. Best way to handle it is to be informed, which means research first before entertaining negative thoughts and follow doctor's advice but remember they too are humans so always seek second opinion :-)
