please help me in installing my sound card software?

i bought a new sound card as old one got corrupted.i bought intel sound card and a cd with hardware. but i dint understand how to install the drivers.all i got on cd are 1.one catalog file 2.one .sys file (which is in not recognized by windows xp ) 3.read me file which cant be so easy to understand and 4. one .inf file thank you
