NASA has observed that there is going to some kind of solar storm in the 2012...probably stretching to 2013. its going to be a bigger phenomena about 100 million hydrogen bomb explosion (wow!!!), it is going to disrupt the whole planet...they have not said how destructive it would be and such a thing would be once in a lifetime thing (say 1 in 100 years)...its coming for sure, they have been observing it from the year 2006...but do not know the consequences...its so frightening

i am not sure at what extent this is true. May be NASA is saying something but media is try to make this more spicy. Yes we feel adventure when there are chances of world to be vanished by some event. I think media is just doing this. Even if sun is not able to burn. Media will burn us. Hahaha.

"exaggeration" that is the term we can use when media is delivering such kind of report. This is maybe once in a lifetime but ha it ever been written in history that it actually made a such terrible damage. If ever it would happen I think there is nothing to worry about instead we should be amazed how God's hand extended his glory to us through all this years.

First off, they cannot predict how large of a solar storm may happen. They can only surmise on the data they have. The current solar minimum has been as active as previous solar maximums, so it is prudent to expect that the next solar maximum may hold some real surprises for our planet. With that in mind, a little searching and you can read about a solar storm in 1859 that electrified telegraph lines. Needless to say that would not be good for satellites and electronics of any nature. Perhaps "The age of enlightenment" is a step backwards rather than forwards

I say don't worry till 2012, If the world ends there is nothing we can do. It would be sad though because I would just hit 18 and wont have much time to enjoy being legal :)

Don't get frightened because our loving God will never allow his creation, the planet earth, to vanish out of that "solar storm". In the Bible, at Psalm 104:5, He has founded the earth upon its established places, it will not be made to totter to time indefinite, or forever. Also, He promised that soon this planet earth will be transformed into paradise earth where all righteous people will live forever. Only those wicked people will be cut off from the earth and they will be no more.

There has been solar activity going on since I believe 2006 and most of it goes unnoticed by the general public. The most that can happen, from what I've read in the past, is sporatic interruptions in telecommunications. It's not something to be afraid of.

Is it like in the movie 2012? How come I haven't read that in the news? I do hope they (Scientists or whoever is in charge with this) will make all the necessary measures to stop it. My children are still young and I want to let them experience what I have experience in life. They haven't experience half of it yet. Well, God is good. Let's keep on praying that phenomenon will not happen.
