A demanding boss. Throws all tasks she can think of without thinking if it will be possible to be accomplished or even reasonable to give it to us.Then If you complain she will ask you how much time exactly do you do a task and that you should do this and do that. She never listens, she will only listen after she made a long speech on the phone...If only she listened then there's no need for us to discuss long but because she keeps on talking all the time, we always end up wasting each other's time. She calls you and asks you a question but she already have an answer she wants to hear and if you utter the wrong answer she begins becomes frustrated. She is only looking at the finish product/outside and don't care about the details. She expects us to do everything and if you even start to complain or just let her know that what she is expecting is impossible she begins to investigate you and puts you in a awkward position like a lawyer to a defendant... That is why everyone lies to her because if you tell her the truth she doesnt accept it... I feel for her though.. she have all these bills and all these dues but the money that comes in... is not enough to pay all of them.. but still it's not my fault or anyone's fault the market is just too slow these days and hope she figures out what to do... How about you guys? Tell me something about your boss.

My boss was also like this, a boss from inferno! the only things he lacks are fangs, a tail, horns and that long red fork like stick! He doubts you if you are sick and would ask one of the admin personnel to track you down at home to make sure you are 100% sick! and mind you its just your 2nd or 3rd day of being sick! we are supposed to submit a medical certificate on our 2nd day of being sick. Cant I provide them a medical certificate when I get back from sickness after the 3rd day? Why do they still have to track me down at home to make sure I am sick? don't they trust their employees? I do not blame the people if they do not believe in their superiors as well. My point is " a person would NOT doubt a fellow colleague of cheating.. filing a sick leave when she will be out shopping around if the person who doubts are not doing the same thing."

I currently work online right now, but oh how I remember the difficult boss. I had this one doctor I worked for who long story short has been in business for 19 years and I was his long standing employee. After 3 1/2 years of his manic actions I could finally take no more. 90% of my time was hiring new employees as if he just did not like the way someone looked he would fire them right on the spot after I had hired them. We are talking about well qualified people with great references and great history. There were the days that he would have 40 patients scheduled and he would just pick up his brief case and charge out the door. Not caring that the waiting room was filled. Have no idea how this doctor had clientele or how he remains in business, glad I am no longer there, and because of his abusive behaviors am picky as to where I work. Good Luck to you, don't leave unless you have a job lined up, as the economy as you know, will not be easy to find another. Be well.

Wow.. great at least I know I am not alone. Yeah.. I really need a job now and job itself is not that hard I am beginning to like it.. It's just the boss that sometimes makes me think like I want to give up. But I know it's hard to find a good job out there like this so I guess I just have to bear it. Anyways she is not that bad at all. There's always a good side of her.. But still... this side of her never changes and I guess it takes for a person like me to bear a person like her...

Glad to hear that you really enjoy your job. Best to continue to let in one ear and out the other. There will be days that you will not be able to tolerate, so you must continue to tell yourself, this will pass. Sounds like she is stressed out with the economic downfalls and vents outwardly without thinking. Maybe when things get better financially for her she may just be a very great boss. Good luck to you!

I never had that trouble when I worked, and now I work for myself and I am very strict on myself. I get upset when I cannot get anything done and when something does not work as itself. Like yesterday my fridge started to ice up again, so here I am waiting until the ice melts so it can start working again and that will take a couple of hours at least. I think with the economy being hard, that your boss is worried that if she does not get the work done in time, and now with it being so bad, there are probably less employees to share the work with. I suppose that happened to you. So now you are possibly doing the work of two or three rather then one. Yet there is a danger if you do not do more then you are able, then then the company will go out of business. Iam using the you collectively, of course, meaning all the employees there.

i had a boss that lied and was demanding and made tons of mistakes and tried to blame it on everyone else. fortunately, he retired and i love my new boss! my hubby had a boss who was verbally abusive. hubby got let go from that job. it took him 9 months to find a new job but he LOVES his boss too. his new boss is very easy going. sounds like its time to look for a new job!

this sounds so familiar... i know someone who seems to be like that. where everybody lies to her because of her indifference with other people. if your boss is demanding and closed-minded, there are those who are very passive and has weak decision-making traits.

My gosh! Is your boss the sister of my boss? She sounds just like him! And to make matters worse for me, he wants the best output but gives us hazy inputs that we even have to figure out just what it is he wants! It's so frustrating when your boss asks your opinion but in the end makes you do what he/she had in mind. I guess a lot of bosses need to undergo a training on management and supervision of employees. The thing about the economy being low is that no matter how much you want to leave your current job, you can't because it's hard to get a better job nowadays.

My boss is a devil. He is very demanding and cruel. He is a baby kisser. He often give a lot of difficult tasks to us and most of them are awful mess. He is a greedy man who never share the achievements with us. While my contract expires next year, I definitely leave away.
