Choosing the path you did not want to take

How do you deal with something you never really wanted to deal with in the first place? My career path wasn't exactly my choice. I wanted to teach children but certain situations and people have urged me to take a different road. But now, I seem to be more depressed than ever. I constantly think of how my life would be had I chosen to do things differently. And it makes me frustrated. I can't give up where I am now because I am very competitive and I'm just not a quitter. And i don't want to disappoint the people around me. Sometimes I wish I'm one of those people who don't care about what other people think because I swear it would make my life much easier.

having to do something which you dont like in the first place is really quite frustrating... however, you shouldnt give up that easily... you said it urself, u are competitive & u are not a quitter. so just continue wat u r doing now & at the same time, you can enroll in classes during ur vacant days that are in line with the course u really wanted to take up. apparently ul be able to finish the degree & pursue ur first loved career. that would even be great coz u can probably land on more jobs than u did before. =)

I think when frustration keeps building up, there's nothing else to do but ignore what everybody else is saying and go your own way. People who love you and who truly are your friends will understand and support you. I also wanted to be a teacher, and I've tried it for two years. I think I was good at it, and it was extremely rewarding - but I had to quit for financial reasons. It simply didn't pay enough to live on, and that caused me a lot of anger and frustration, which I didn't want to take it out on my family or, worse, on the kids at school. I can't say I'm sorry I changed my career path, but I still am angry with a system that doesn't make the slightest effort to invest in education.

Are you living your life or theirs?????? Listen to the advice of others but WALK YOUR OWN PATH!!!! Life's lessons are best learned that way. Of course, you are learning a lesson now. Living someone else's life is never happy. You do have the power to choose and live your life as you want. It has always only been up to you. CHOOSE!!
