Hello Lotters, Please read it carefully as I am not talking about having a surrogate mom in this topic. probably similar but not the point of having a baby in some one else's womb. This is regarding to one of the recent movies called "surrogates". A scientist invest a droid with a synaptic thing that allows you only to stay at home and use a droid as you're body with you're consciousness to go almost every where with out even using ur own body. almost the Advantages of these were; * If you're differently abled (disabled legs), you can use it to go anywhere * If you have a Look problem/insecure with you're looks now (you can use it to go out) * If you're life is threatened, you can use this as well as a decoy for you're safety In my opinion, this can ONLY be used in outer space for space flight Missions. that can help NASA reduced risk of their astronauts by not really going there and use the "surrogates" instead. AS for me, I can use it to be a SUPER-HERO and fight bad guys. if i get shot, then i just go home, reawaken myself and fix the surrogate. Can you think of any disadvantages to this technology What are you're opinions in this matter...

There are arguments to be made in surrogacy. For instance, when someone hires a surrogate hitman to kill someone and deal falls through, could we apprehend the surrogate or the real person?

hi letran in other words I could program my droid to do mylotting for me while the alive me lies down and naps . Oh O I could program my droid to go to the store for me while I instead sit here and mylot. the only disadvantages would be if d I incorrectly programmed my droid then I might have big problems. could use a droid this morning as I keep falling asleep here while typing my responses. then I hit a wrong key and a string of letters like k's appear on my discussion making utter nonsense of my whole discussion. Oh I would love a droid who could help me catch up on my backlog of discussions. I thought I had slept well last night but I am sitting here and falling asleep even as I type. It could of course be I have high blood sugar. But what a kick as I am a bit physically handicapped and I could send the droid to the store to buy the things that I a m really out of and bring them up here to my room.

I don't mind having a surrogate. probably use a different version of myself. but not completely like me because i could use it to spy on my boyfriends activities. or probably date or flirt with him not using my self surrogate. to determine whether he is for me or not. that's a good benefit right there.

Oh I just rented this movie on RedBox a couple of months ago, although I haev to be honest, I was pretty confused for the majority of the time (and Bruce Willis was just creepy in it lol). I think it might be nice to have a surrogate, because it would be kind of like having a safety net under you - just in case something bad wer to happen - you would still have your 'old self' to use if needed. But I don't like the idea of everyone looking perfect and being all "Stepford Wives"-ish. It is pretty unrealistic (obviously) as our differences and flaws make us interesting and unique.

I don't see the essence of creating this making an artificial self of ours. if we have one life, let's live with out those devices. good old living a normal life has been better for me. you can't get a healthy relationship if you're using surrogates.

The only disadvantage I see out of doing so is the mis-use. In other words people would not use it for good purposes but bad, it is just what people today do.

I am not sure about that. those people who has obese or insecure with their looks will definitely use this technology to look prettier,. but it's not a way to get a girl or boyfriend since they would still be longing to you're true form. it shouldn't be used for social purposes i think. I have watched the movie, and i agree that people who got themselves hooked are mostly addicted. but killing the operators isn't right.

that would be a wonderful idea. if that's the case, i don't have to commute to far away places that much. i can always run when ever i am in the area whereas i am five or six blocks away from the mall where i used to work as a janitor in the food court. plus, i will have a reason not to drink with the other workers.

wishful thinking LK . In my opinion surrogates is the best thing that could happen if you are suffering from severe insecurity problem, or if a person is too afraid to face reality. I've watched the movie as well but what goes in my mind is not how awesome it is to have surrogates who'll do the dirty jobs for you instead I'm thinking how people want to see other people's suffering but they don't want to experience it themselves. Just like watching a movie.

I like that i dea, so that i won't have to tire myself into sleep. sleep but awake in the surrogate, then probably when i am humanely awake, i would do mylotting the whole day. you're mind is obviously awake 24 hours a day but you're body can still sleep. i think it's an advantage perse.

It depend on the kind of hands who are using it.if this goes to the wrong hands, cops will undoubtly have big trouble trying to find a way to destroy or arrest the criminal. worst, what if it's a terrorist blowing himself up with even being there, that would be a hard case to solve, or can never be solve at all.
