My little baby hasn't pooped for a day

I just need your advice my fellow mylotters. My baby is 10 days old today. We are just a little worried because it has been more than 24 hours since the time she last pooped. Currently what I am doing is mixing breast milk with with milk formula. I don't know if this is the reason why. I called my mother and she told me to realign the measurement of the milk formula, adding more water to a scoop of milk. Do you have any recommendations? Should I be worried already?

My mother told me that she will use a soap to dap by by wiping the soap around the rectum when I got constipated as I was a toddler. Maybe you want to try this method because she told me that it usually works. therefore, taking your baby to the doctor also the main options.

This is new. Don't worry I'll take note of this. Good thing my baby's poop has stabilized now. Thanks for your concern. :)

After one day you really shouldn't be worried. More than likely the reason that she hasn't pooped is because her little body is a little bit constipated from the formula that you are feeding her (I used formula with my daughter and learned at that time that many formulas are enriched with iron). If it is something that persists, however, I would call the pediatrician and see what they might recommend. For us it was dark karo syrup in water that worked to get her to poop.

I can understand your concerns because this is what I had experienced in the past. The formula milk is not better than mother's milk. Some babies can't adjust to it easily and therefore they will have a problem for the digestion. When my child was a baby, sometimes he also had the digestion problem and hadn't pooped for few days. Since your baby is very little, so it's better to use the natural way. You can use your palm to massage your baby's belly tenderly. And give more water for your baby. I hope this will be helpful. Good advice to let nature take it's course, but if your baby's tummy becomes irritable, crampy, add a little Karo Syrup to the formula. It will help soften the stools naturally without any harm to baby.

I think you better bring your 10 year old baby is he or she still hasn't pooped for more than a day or two days more.I'm not really expert but if you see some little thing that's different then better let your baby check.

All babies went through that. All my babies went through it and they are all fine. The baby may experience discomfort when she unloads but that's about it. That thing will ultimately go out. You can try to use suppository if she will have a hard time pooping. Just give her plenty of water.
