sinkhole on my town !!

hey, do you know something about sinkhole? yeah, it's a big hole that suddenly formed. i was surprised when a pass a street and i see a round hole, very round, and deep, oh very deep. i was lucky at that time because that sinkhole wasn't under my bike. huff.. but, how it can be? is there a monster down there? o.O i guess that hole will be bigger from time to time.
by the way, that pict was not a sink hole on my town, i just want to describe the sinkhole well.

In my place too, there are some sink hole on the street, not a lot, like two were discovered, and not as big as like in your picture or in Guetemala. I just wonder, what lies beneath that sink hole, just sooo creepy to look at that seems like a huge bottomless hole...

Wow that picture is very creepy! I'd be worried about getting near that hole and losing my balance as I'd surely be gone forever! Glad that wasn't the sink hole that was in your town, but I hope it hasn't gotten as big as this!
Glad you also weren't on your bike as that would not have been fun to trip over!

My nape hairs is stand when I see your photo, maybe the soil structure of the land has broken, and wiped out by underground water. that's just my opinion, wee need an expert to know it exactly.
