Hello friends, it looks like i have depression. I don't give up, usually, but in some moments i feel really really bad. Today i had another discussion and it was for my broke schedule. With one of the friends there, we realized that i have depression. It's not laziness as i thought before, but i'm out of motivation and i have no wishes, at all. Today it was long day. Waking up, long coffee, some washing, cooking. I have read that a lot of people eat really much when they are depressed. This is what i'm doing this evening. I don't feel hunger, but i feel like my stomach is empty, like it feel much better if i eat something. That's how my potatoes with melted cheese finished. So now, i need to do something really fast to fight with my emotions and to be up again. What do you do, when you are too stressed, when you are out of wishes and motivations about whatever it is, how do you fight with your bad moments and save yourself from the depression? The picture under the post is the same as i feel right now - everything is grey and empty of sense.

Keep thinking positive and keep your days busy, this is how you won't have depression at all, believe me. May be this is the 2 or 3 time in my life when i feel that way. Because i was so busy last years, that i just couldn't look at myself and ask myself what is in your mind today

Well. I think you might want to look closely to what caused this lack of motivation. And then you may realize that your are no longer motivated or engrossed in what caused this lack of motivation. Sometimes we have to change the course of our lives, not drastically. But something very little can be changed and will restore peace in your mind. I have just started trying to quit smoking, people might say this is not a big thing, but sometimes I feel stressed when I do not smoke. I wish you the best.

Oh yeah, the price for a psychologist is high. Even here in my country not everyone can go to the psychologist. Well, you can be you own psychologist because no one will understand your own mind like you do. The doctors are making money, it's a business afterall, but the real work is done by you, because everything is in your head. So you can be your own psychologist.

I wanted to be psychologist by myself, so i've read a lot of books, without going to doctors. I've never been there, but this services in our country are private services and this doctors work for themselves, so they put whatever price they want. Too expensive.

Depression starts when you have no solutions to an issue troubling you. Mostly, it is the side effects of disillusionment or failure. You feel hopeless inside and that no one can help you. today we have psychologists and psychiatrists that are trained to deal with all kinds of depressions. They can counsel you and give you the proper medication to get you out of that depressive mood.

You wrote it so right - hopeless. That's what i feel. Thanks for sharing, but in my country psychologist for 1 hour is around 50$ if the name is not so popular and it was double price, when the name is popular. So i'll have to deal by myself and the people around. Thanks for helping.

Depression is a cruel illness, but it is one that can be beaten. There are some things that you can do to help yourself. Make sure you are doing the basic things that your body needs. Try to get enough sleep, make sure you are eating healthy foods - even if you dont feel like eating, make sure you are getting enough vitamins. Try to get out every day, even if you are just having a quick walk, dont lock yourself away. All these things will help your body, obviously depression isnt about your body but it may have a "knock on" effect. Have you been to your doctor, they may be able to arrange some sort of therapy, I found the best thing was having someone to talk to. That is one of the main things, do not hold everything in, if you are having a bad day then tell someone, allow them to support you. You will have good and bad days, but with the right help and support the bad days will become less. Hope it gets better for you!

Thank you for the answer friend, so many tips, i'll write them on a note and will use them whole day long. I really need to deal with that, because without motivation, i can't work, because receiving money is not a good motivation.

hello suggar! it's a good thing that you recognize and accept it as what it really is, depression that is. That's the initial thing to do really, ascertain what you're suffering from and accepting that. Then, you must really see a doctor if you feel you're in too deep into it already. But while you have not yet seen a doctor, you should see to it that you take good care of yourself by way of getting a good night's sleep, adequate and proper nutrition and rest. You must also need to exercise outdoors if possible. Take a walk in the park, be with nature if you can and appreciate the beauty that surrounds you. If you're religious, you need to pray and meditate to cast away the blues. If you're not, then maybe this is the right time to start with it. Doing these things would somehow help you feel a little distress. Moreover, talking about your feelings and situation to someone who's willing to just listen would be good for you too. Lastly, you must understand that depression and its cure, despite its being a medical condition, is really up to you. Its cure is up to you, if you want to get well soon, that would be really up to you.

hello suggar! its nice to know that you are getting on with your life and curing yourself with your own kind of cure. Yes, i agree with you that helping others would also help you in a way, since you would forget your own worries while you tend to others. And yes, most of the time we can give good advices to others but when confront with the same situation, we can't do the same for ourselves. Its hard to react when you're in the situation, your hands are tied as you so put it. Hope to hear from you more and soon. Hope by then, you have completely gotten over your depression.

Hello Deriellevc I've heard that the first step of the fight is when you realize what the problem is. Then you can look for help. I think i can handle it alone and with my friends, without doctors around. I wanted to be psychologist some day. In last years, i've read a lot of books about psychology and was looking around to know more the people, to know more the world i live in. So this kind of problems are not too far from my interests. But here is a point .... you always help the others to feel good. You always try to give them not advices, but to help them with your own experience, if they can take some moment and learn from what you have been a part. But when you are in the same situation, it's like you don't know what to do. Your hands are tied? Today i started to do different stuff. I started with a new recipe, new dish, during my coffee. I cleaned what needed to be clean and was waiting me. May be a movie during the lunch with my boyfriend would be nice. And later i'll start working, but after all, i'll feel good.

To win the battle against depression I got a way. That's; just don't care about it. Pay no attention to the creature named depression. So it will go away whenever you uncare it. Depression will haunt you if you keep remember it. And it will leave you if you don't care of it. It really works, friend. So, better you do many activities to kick out your depression.

Please consult a doctor. You may be feeling so but you may not have. The way we think will affect our health. Moreover dont concentrate so much thinking about depressions. You are perfectly alright. Its the way we think will affect ourselves. So always think positive.

I also became depressed last year due to emotional and professional circumstances. I realized that the only way to fight it was to never spend time alone in my room. I also tried exercising which worked wonders for me. Talking to a friend is also a great help. Hope these tips will help you.

please bear in mind that depression is a normal reaction to a stressful situation thus being depressed is a phase that all people undergo. from a nurse's point of view, i don't think that what you are experiencing is a major depression. remember that how we cope with things that can make you s depressed is a major indicator that will tell if a person is still capable of continuing his activities of daily living. as with the laziness,i believe that mind speaks louder that physical responses so if you think that you are too lazy to move, then that's going to be what your brain will tell your reflexes. try to sleep with positive thoughts and wake up with high spirits, that's the best pill that you can take.

A good way to fight depression is to get more sleep, exercise more regularly, it will keep you busy and at the same time it's healthy for the body. Go outside, meet people, share interests it should keep your thoughts away from the depression. Talking to a close friend, talk about any problems you have, that should really help. Think of things that u consider fun, do them :). I hope i helped ;).

Hello friend, in the past, always when i was in a bad mood or had hard times, i started to work as a robot, just to stay away of my negative thinking. I can say that working is the best therapy, but i still work at home, so it won't be effective, if i stay at home and think for the problems all the time.

Your friends can help you win that fight by going out whenever possible. They could cheer you up when you feel stressed and the loved one can take care of your relaxation . When I am stressed or feel lonely I just go out . Walk for 40-80minutes alone , just to feel the fresh air and come back home relieved . I hope you get better.
