I know there are many benifits of being vetetarian and i would like to be a vegetarian. But i love chicken very much and cannot resist myself. Some months ago i saw a butchering of a chicken as it cried it's lungs out. But as the butcher cut it it became quiet and after a few moments i decided not to have chicken. But as time went i still cannot resist of having chicken. Lets see. What about you ? How often do you have it ?

hi there :) i love chicken too :) but i eat beef, pork vegetables and fruits too. i eat almost everything :) it is okay, you can still eat chicken and if you wish to be a vegetarian completely, you can always do some moderation on eating chicken. i love to eat soups or other dishes with meat then you add many different kinds of vegetables. it is still healthy because it is balanced. you get protein from the meat and also different kinds nutrients from the vegetables :) oh and also fiber. so maybe you can also try that, eat chicken but also eat vegetables at the same time while you taper your intake of chicken down. :)

I like your thinking friend. Will reflect on it. Moderation of chicken intake is what i'll do..

If you're never going to have meats, then make sure you have some sort of nuts or seeds every day to get your fill of proteins, and be sure to have a multivitamin every once in a while, or just get pills of vitamin B-12. Being a vegetarian is much better then being a carnivore, but you need to keep both sides with you to stay healthy.

I'm not sure you are fully conversant with exactly why people should be vegetarian or you would be one by now. Even the meat of the cleanest, most organically raised free-range hens are teeming with parasites at every stage of their growth. Cooking does not kill the eggs, etc. It is these parasites inside your gut that have been found to secrete the exact chemicals that tell your brain "I must have chicken". Do your research on some very informative sites like Dr Suzanne Gudakunst in the USA & many, many others. If you can't stop eating the stuff, go to a naturopath, health clinic, etc & get your colon flushed completely, by machine, then see if you still feel like you "must have chicken". Otherwise, just stay off the stuff for a month, let your body clean itself out & you'll never go back to it again.

im sorry but i dont see any different benefits than being a meat eater. i love my meat and couldnt give that up. i am also fussy when it comes to food as i dont like peppers, mushrooms, fish which are extremely popular with veggies so i would be so limited. also meat is much tastier.

I also love chicken. I know vegetarian food is more good, but i think there is not much fault in eating non veg food also. Killing of the animals is cruel, but we cannot avoid them in our food. Have you seen killing other animals. Comparing it i think killing chicken is not so cruel. Also we always have temptation to eat them. If we are eating them all the days only it is bad. Having them once in a week is not a bad idea.

I like it. I myslef don't think I could watch one getting killed but I guess that makes me a hypocrit. As for you becoming a vegitarian but still likeing chicken. Does it really mater? I mean if you want to eat vegitables and that stuff but still eat chicken then go for it.

I wanna be a vegeterian too because my girlfriend is vegeterian and i'm not too fond of non-veg so i can leave it completely for her. But recently i've gone out with some friends and we ate chicken and when i came back home i called her and told here i had chicken and i would not eat it again as its not something i like very much. She told me if i like it i can have it and not just leave it coz she is a vegeterian. But i've decided to leave it, i didnt eat non-veg for more than a year but recently with some friends i've eaten so i guess its not a big deal for me to leave non-veg and even veg food is very healthy too so i'm moving on to only veg.

I haven't given up on meat as yet, though there are vegetarian dishes I've tried and enjoyed and would go back for More..I've tried some vegetarian dishes featuring Tofu, which I could recommend as making for a good chicken substitute in a curry!

If I were you, I would seek out a local livestock grower instead of eating commercially raised chicken. The chicken you buy at the store often had a very stressful life of living in cramped, dark quarters with thousands of other chickens and was pumped full of antibiotics and hormones to make it grow faster. Try to find someone who raises chickens so that you know exactly where the meat is coming from and how it was raised and butchered. Being a vegetarian can be good for you, but only if you are very good at planning what you eat to make sure you get all the nutrition you'd miss from meat. Why not instead try to limit your consumption of meat and when you do eat it, make sure it is from an organic source? Organically raised birds have probably had a better life and their meat will be healthier for you too. That would be my suggestion. Also, do be sure you eat some red meat now and then to keep your iron levels up and to get enough B-vitamins in your diet. Otherwise, you could become anemic and weak. Or at least take a multivitamin and eat plenty of broccoli and similar veggies.
