It is that time of year that the holiday shoppers come out of their warm little house and fill the stores in order to get the best deals. It is around this same time when you see more and more people asking for donations for some kind of charity. While I do my best to help out not only during the holidays but when I can, I also know there are alot of fraudsters out there preying on the kindness of others. I myself almost got tricked into giving for a fake cause the other day. Have you ever been ripped off by one of these people? How can someone tell if the person is really with the charity or if they are just trying to make an easy buck?

when i was younger i was ripped off. but since then i was never ripped off. mom always told me to beware of these stuff and avoid giving money. it is better to directly give foods or clothings or commodities to the ones in need. usually if we give money as a donation we go to the foundation and also visit them to make sure the money was righteously spent.

I see that your photo is of The Salvation Army as well as you have tagged them in your post. I am hoping that they are not the fraudsters you are speaking about. As for how do you know they are a good charity, I wouldn't donate to any cause that I am not aware of. You really have to go with your feeling. If you think they may be fraudsters do not give them anything. You can always look into the organization and donate at a later time if you wish.
