It is a matter of discipline.People in a hospital where my sister was admitted are admirable for the efforts they made to observe proper waste disposal. of course, they are because they have funds and so unlike the public hospitals I went to because the public hospitals has only an allocated fund for a year and if it is depleted, there will be no more colored plastics for the rubbish.

Waste segregation is separating trash to non-recyclable, biodegradable, and recyclable groups. The biodegradable wastes are those that can be broken down easily by bacteria like fruits and vegetables. Recyclable materials are those that can be reused like paper and metal. Non-biodegradable wastes needed to be dumped on a landfill like napkins, clothing, Styrofoam and wrappers.that's what we practice too inn our work place. we can always have monetary credits out of it since we sell those non biodegradable stuffs like plastics and bottles. we get most of the plastic bottles during recess times from students. they to are aware of that and i commend them for doing so.
