What's the worst injury you've ever had?

Hi friends. I am currently typing this post down with my left foot laid on top of a chair. The reason is that I went out running a couple of days ago like I always do, and unfortunately I sprained my left ankle. At first they thought that my fistula could be broken, but after 4 radiography images they concluded that bones are fine so that it's just a sprain. Consequently, I will have to be like this for about a week or so. It's frustrating because you cannot do your normal life, and specially when you normally practice lots of sports, but what are you going to do? What's the worst injury you've ever had? how did you face the recuperation/rehabilitation process?

I think my worst injury was when the bus hit my car and I flew out of the car and into the guard rail. I had over 100 stitches in my head. But nothing was broken. However I am thinking when I broke my ribs it took longer for me to get over it! The other worst injury is when I broke my finger - it was actually dislocated.. it was bent around on the other side of my hand and theyhad to put it back in place.

100 stitches in your head and nothing broken! wow, you were lucky that time, no doubt. Dislocations are really painful. A friend of mine has dislocated both shoulders several times and he finally had to go through a surgery in one of them...really bad.

Ouch, luckily it's just a sprain for you. I don't think I've ever really had any serious injury that would require me to go to the hospital so many times. The biggest one for me would probably be the time I went rollerblading and ended up ramming into a cement wall going really fast. I wasn't wearing any form of protection so I ended up busting my right kneecap pretty bad. My whole kneecap was swollen and bruised up and my leg was a bit stiff for a few weeks. It was a pain not being able to walk properly.

Good thing I soon realized that I had no future as a roller skater, lol. I bought all the equipment but I saw that it really wasn't my thing....anyway I still had time for a couple rough falls, but nothing serious really. Thanks for answering.

When i was younger, my bicycle and I went everywhere together. One day i was late getting home for dinner. My shoelace got wrapped in my bicycle chain and I skidded on one knee on my bicycle on asphalt. I felt like the skin was being ripped from my knee. all i could do was cry when i finally made it home. After my mother helped me clean up the scrape, i was feeling better. it still looked terrible, but at least i made it home safely.

I have never involved in a very serious accident and only once that I fell down from my bike and the skin of my left palm strip off, yes, totally strip off. That is the worst injury I had before and it took me a month to recover. Luckily there are no scare at all.

The wost injury I have is my wrist got twisted too much and a tendon gave off. Until now it still hurts but only a little bit. I got the injury from playing with friends in school when I was in 5th grade. I did a reversed stand with only my right hand and I could not handle my weight that's why my wrist twisted extremely.

tendons are tricky, and sometimes its hard to recover from their injuries. Plus they can be really painful, i bet you had a really bad time back then. thanks for the answer.

ugh, sorry that you're hurt. The worst that I've ever been hurt is when my father, mother, and I were in a car wreck up in Michigan. He was driving down the interstate and fell asleep at the wheel. Back than, we had this old 67 nova car. and my dad said that he feel asleep behind the wheel of his old 67 Nova car. Which, he said back in the 60s the exhaust pipe wasn't all that good. it leaked inside the car and made him drowsy. He said that he hit a stop sign and he got banged up not all that bad, my mom got a cut on her chin, and than I got my left leg broke. I was only like 6 months old at the time, and it was back in the 70s. well, if you were old enough to know about the 70s, you will recall that they didn't have those car seats that were worth anything like they do today. They didn't have me in one, and my mom was holding me on her lap in the backseat I think. and that's when my dad hit the stop sign. I don't remember nothing about it, but, I've always heard that story throughout my whole life. lol in a way, it's kinda funny to me though. :)but, this is what was so funny. My dad is a big cut up type of person. He is always making people laugh. Well, he said that when I broke my leg, the doctors had to put a cast over both of my legs since I was still a baby. The cast would come up to about my mid section, and it made me look like a butterfly in a butterfly sack. well, he said that whenever I had to go and use the bathroom, I couldn't use it normally like any other little child could with that cast covering up my mid section. so, he said that I had to pee and do the number 2 in the cast. and that it made the cast look yellowy and stuff. I don't know how they cleaned me up after I done the nasty. lol but, he said it was funny at how my face would look right after I done my bathroom business. LOL He would always make fun of me at that time and would call me this name that stayed on me for years. Doober... LOL He said that is how I got the name "Doober" was because of the doo-doo. LOL I will never forget his face after he told me that. His face would be so red that it looked like he ate a hot pepper or something. LOL He's always cutting up like that. I guess that is why I love him so much. His humor, and silliness. LOL He's great. :D So, that's the only worst accident that I can recall that has ever happened to me throughout my whole life. Other than that I was always tried to be careful about whatever I was doing while growing up. :D Thanks for the post, it brought back wonderful memories to me, even though I had a broken leg, LOL. :D

well reading your answer has made my post worthwhile. I am glad it brought good memories to you, even if it implied having a broken leg, lol. Best response is for you :)

I think mine would be more of an accident. A balloon got to close to a candle, and it blew which practically torched my face. I got third degree burns on half of my face, but thankfully, I was still young then, so my skin was healthy and I have no scars left. I was out of the sun for 3 months, and I had to stay inside the house for a full week.
