Not to many would go out out on a limb at the age of 39 and say "I still love to color" But.. I am !!! I have loved to color ever since I was very little, and it is something I never grew out of it. My coloring is a far cry from what it use to be lol. I find coloring to be very relaxing and a wonderful brain clearer. I can erase all my worries of the day, by each of stroke of the crayon. As you can see from the picture , I enjoyed the Smurfs cartoon from the 80's, and I saw this coloring book in Dollar General, and just had to pick it up. So what do you think, am I too old to be coloring and what age do you think a "colorer" should put down the crayons ?

Although I have not had the opportunity to color anymore, I won't say given the chance that I would not. Coloring somehow brings out the creativity and thoughts of a person. There are some like me who truly enjoy coloring inside the lines and I think it means that we are perfectionist with what we map out in life. I do not think there is an age appropriate age to stop coloring, it can bring out the creative person in you!

Well, I can't say my coloring is always in the lines lol but I see what you are saying about being a perfectionist with what we map out in our life.

I don't think there is an age limit of doing something you want.it's like telling a fashion designer,"you can design clothes until you're 40 only".it's like telling a architect,"you can design houses until you're 50 only".I am 27,and I still love some things people might consider childish.I still love watching cartoons.I actually prefer watching cartoons over drama shows.I love character figures and still collect them.I actually got some Spongebob toys from the McDonald's Happy Meal.they make me happy,so I will do them, whatever people may say.

I think it is important to keep some of your childhood activities that you enjoy doing, in your life, no matter what age . It is, like you said, a happy time. I love to watch cartoons from the 80's, which is hard to find now. Goodness, I collect barbies out of my love for them as a child. I can look at them and this sense of innocent comes over me, which is well needed as a adult lol. Happiness is what is all about in this world, so it shouldn't matter what it is that makes us happy !

I have not done any colouring for years but I have often WANTED to do it again, even though I'm 44 now. At Christmas I used to love my new felt-tip pen sets that I always had in order, corresponding with the pics of the pens on the lid. My brother didn't treat them as well, often leaving the tops off them, drying the pens out. How annoying is that? I am wearing a top that has a swirly black design on a white background and I have no doubt at all I could re-create that pattern myself as I used to LOVE drawing patterns. My Nan used to buy me colouring books and I coloured every page in until I got another one. In my Stars it says that I could do something creative like drawing, colouring etc. But I haven't got the confidence to take the plunge...also the lighting in here is very poor. Carry on Colouring is my advice to you my friend. Good for you!

What a nice Christmas present that is, but yes, what a nuisance it would be for the tops to get left off. I bet there were plenty of fusses over that ! Oh girl...you need to give yourself permission to express yourself with your drawing designs. If I thought I could remotely hand draw designs like what you are talking about, I would. Purchase yourself a lamp, and some pens/markers and just GO FOR IT, no one is judging you !!!! Hey, why not just shut yourself up in a room with you and your supplies, and no on ever has to know that you are acting out on a creative outlet. That might make you feel better.

sunshine, no worries. I give you the best excuse to color all you want. Call yourself a painter and people will even pay for you to paint to your heart's content. Isnt' that what they pay them to do regardless of age? If you are adventurous, draw them, then call yourself an artist. problem settled?

I only color with crayons when dealing the the kids and working with them. I used to be pretty good at free handing drawing so I prefer pencil and a sketchbook if I had the right inspiration and could find my old sketchbook.

Lucky you to be able to free hand draw, I could only dream of doing it. I have tried, but found out really quick I am better at coloring a already drawn out picture lol. If I could free hand draw, I would be designing all sorts of things. Feel blessed to have such a talent !

Hi. sunshine37. I think that a person is never too old to color. I like coloring too. Especially,, when I am helping my kids with their homework. I like to help them choose the correct colors to color with. I think that you are very intelligent to still enjoy coloring. Have fun!

Hi sunshine, As a child i used to colour, be it cryons or water colour. Never had the chance to do oil paint and other forms of colour. I still remember my dad got very angry because i used cryons on the walls . Yes i havent coloured anything for years now but if i get a chance then i would definitely love to spoil the papers.

oh, coloring with water colors would be something I would love to attempt, never the less, create a oil painting. Like your dad, I remember getting onto my girls for coloring on the walls. Matter of fact, my oldest had taken sharpies to her closet walls and wood trim. You talking about being very angry. I hated to get onto her because I didn't want to ruin her creativity outlet, but come on..she had done a lot of damage. Needless to say, my anger got the best of me, but she will still doodle and color on her papers. So I suppose much damage was not done. You ought to give yourself the chance to color again, I bet you would love it and would create some beautiful masterpieces !

You're never too old to color! Coloring is fun, it's creative, and it's expressive. Why shouldn't you color? No matter how old you are.

your exactly right, coloring is "right" on all sorts of levels. It is just a well rounded creative activity. You never know how it is going to turn out until you have completely finished.

I don't think that the enjoyment of coloring should ever have an age limit. If this is something you feel like doing at 5 or 95 than you should by all means do it. Don't let anyone tell you that it is childish for you to still be coloring as an adult. You are are as young as you feel.

Isn't that the truth, you are as young as you feel. Now, if I could apply that to different aspects of my life, I would be doing good lol. Don't worry...my coloring will continue, matter of fact I am thinking I will make it a routine to color on a regular basis instead of just when I get really stressed.

Aww, how sweet ! I enjoy coloring with my girls, it is something we use to do all the time, especially at bedtime. We would each pick a picture, color it, and chat as we go along. It is something I really miss. The only time we color together now is if we go camping. I will haul the books and colors with us, and we soak up the sun and peaceful environment with some colorful creativity. I can see me coloring with my grandkids down the road, and it will be something I will treasure very much, like I am sure you do !

Hi, Coloring is a form of art,and art has no age limit. Therefore even the old can still color as long as he/she can holds crayon or any other meduim of art.
