In Digital Age Do You Still Listen To Music Tapes?

Today music is mostly listened with Mp3 format or Cd. Mp3 is very easy to listen and you can carry with you a lot of songs everywhere but quality isn't always perfect because it is a compressed format. Mp3 is more handly when I walk in the street. I like to have a lot of album with me and with a walkman I can't because of space. CD music instead is very clean format and has a better quality then MP3 because it's uncompressed music. When I was a kid there weren't mp3s but Music Tapes and CD weren't so spreaded because the high price. Music cassette tape for me has a warmer sound and isn't so perfect as digital but I still love it. MC was a good format too because you can lend or easily copy them to your friends. I loved to create music cassette cover drawing them or make a compilation copying song from different tapes. Now in our digital era Music cassette format is almost dead. Few people still use it. I have a lot of Mc in laying in my house but sometimes I listen to them because of "dirty" sound. Do you still have Music cassette in your house, and sometimes do you still listen to them?

I no longer listen to music tapes. Even if I wanted to, my cassette player has some defect and it plays the tapes with a slightly accelerated speed. To make it play at the right speed, I need to hold down the play button. At the end of the tape, an indentation of the play sign is marked on my finger, lol I have some tapes that I don't have a digital copy of and I haven't found the time to try and convert them to digital format for my PC. Our car is 14 years old and its radio still makes use of cassette tapes but it broke down in 2009 because it ate a tape and won't eject it. That was supposed to be the only remaining tape player we have but it's no longer the case. I miss those times when we could pop in tapes on the radio during road trips. I remember those days when I used to record a lot of songs. I think I have about a dozen of blank cassette tapes and as you mentioned, it's fun making cover drawings. I would record songs from the radio and TV programs and I would be mad when someone is noisy or if a noisy motorcycle passes by. I found the walkman and cassette tapes more convenient than CDs and CD players because they're not as fragile. Now, I listen to songs with my mp4. It's very convenient. I no longer have to bring a bunch of tapes, walkman, and mini speakers just to have music on the go. It's all packed in one tiny gadget with the hassle-free feature of being able to put in songs that I like and even arrange them. Interesting topic, had a lot of fun reading and responding to it. Have a nice day! =)

Hi EnslinPorter! Thank you for response! It is very good and reading it, I remember past years when I had my first car (Renault twingo) with a radio tape stereo! It was great. I loved so much. I had a special cassette with a jack input to take the audio signal from a cd player so I could play Cd in a stereo cassette player lol :D Yes, walkman was very resistent! It felt from my hands thousand of times but It never crashed! :) Have a nice day! :) I gave you the best response reward ;)javascript:__doPostBack('ctl00$cphMainContent$lbStart','')

I can't really said that I still listen to tapes. I got rid of all of my tapes. My husband and I still do have some CDs, but we generally tend to listen to our music on our computers and our ipods.

I know what you mean. If you have a lot of tapes like me they will occupy a lot of space. I've few space avaible in my house so I'd get rid of my tapes but I fell bad if I do that.
