Have you ever had a bad hair cut incident? My dad went to his typical barber to get a hair cut. He accidentally cut my dad's ear a little, (not off) but just a cut and my dads blood isn't like everyone else's- it bleeds a lot. He kept bleeding for over 15 minutes so my dad went to the Emergency Room. They gave him a shot, cleaned it up & they charged $300 bucks! Luckily, we have insurance and he only had to pay $20. My dad went back to the barber shop who said he didn't have INSURANCE! And got his reimbursement back & felt bad for the barber since he's basically living off a little money but my dad wants to teach him a lesson because if it was someone else, they'd probably sue him + everything else! Have you ever had a bad hair cut incident before?

Sorry about your dad but glad he is ok. anyone in business should have insurance though. If something really bad happens they are going to have a lot of trouble.

Hi. infatuatedbby. I can't believe that this barber did not even have insurance at all. How is he running a barbershop business without any insurance? He could be held liable if something really bad happened. That is so unfair that your father had to pay only $20.00 I would have informed the hospital that I was cut by my barber. He should not have to suffer because of something that his barber failed to do. At least your father was treated for this cut. It could have been more serious than that. It seems to me as if this barber was not paying any attention at all on what he was doing. That is his job to pay attention when he is cutting somebody's hair.

Yeah! My dad paid $20 because we had insurance BUT if we didn't, we would have to pay a little over $300. The hospital asked what happen and my dad told them the barber did this and they printed a bill for the Barber. the barber paid us $300 in cash, hopefully he'll learn his lesson and to not do this again and to have insurance. My dad told him HE should get insurance because if it was someone else he'd lose his shop and etc for making a cut like that accidentally.

Hi. infatuatedbby. Thanks for the BS! I am so glad that your father was able to get the $300.00 in his hand. He deserves it. Many of those barbers don't be paying attention to what they are doing any way and they end up hurting someone or making a terrible mistake. What a shame! I hope that now this barber will make sure that he is fully aware of what is going on at his shop. He will have to pay more attention to what he is doing. If not, then the next time, it may not be so easy fro him. Someone may want to sue him and this time, he may very well do some jail time too!

I have had an incident like this before, but not on such a large scale like your father though. I remember when I was back in secondary school, I used to frequent this barber shop my dad used to bring me to because the barber charged a very cheap price for the job. This particular barber had the habit of doing his job very quickly (a haircut from him normally lasts for about 5 minutes or less ), and there was this once when the hair trimmer sliced my ear slightly and it bled. I didn't know how long it bled for because I only found out after I got home (I didn't even feel the pain, can you believe it! ), and it must have bled only for a few minutes because the blood had already dried out by the time I found out about the cut. Well, accidents like this can happen from time to time, but I sincerely hope that there won't come a time where I have to go to the emergency room just because of a cut at the barber!

Wow! 5 minutes or less, that's crazy but yeah I understand if it was charged cheap. Glad it didn't bleed for a long time, I can't believe you didn't feel it. I'm so scared of blood, I would feel a cut so quickly but I go to the salon, they're more careful plus ladies like to take their time cutting hair!

Oh sorry to hear about the barber cutting your father. I remember once a barber nicked my son but not a major bleeding situation. I am glad he got his reimbursement. I wonder if this is going to be billed as an accident the insurance, at least here, I know will send out forms asking what happened and if it is part of an accident they will ask how and what happened. At which time the questions on the forms is to find out if a person is suing or not. In this case your father claim if it were here could be denied since that was a place of business, where as your father will have to turn around and sue for the bill and perhaps the pain and suffering it caused. Something to think about in the event it happens this way by you. Best of luck but this is what I would do if the insurance denies the claim.

My dad didn't sue him. He would if the barber wasn't willing to pay my dad. It's a lesson for the person to be more careful. The guy admitted that was his fault and gave my dad cash back. But yeah, this is why I fear of going to the hair salon, especially since for females they use sharp scissors- I'm afraid of getting my ear chopped off -__-

Really?! Then if I were your dad I am gonna report it to the police and arrest the barber. I got my niece ears cut before because the barber are not paying attention on what he was doing and accidentally cut my niece ears. I yell at him because, he was watching the television while doing his job and I am really mad at him.

My dad didn't want to because he felt bad and the guy apologized so much my dad is making him reimburse + extra money. If he didn't reimburse the bills then my dad would report him to learn his lesson. The place is on the verge of closing down anyway.
