YOu should have communication with your partner ever single day... in letters or using cell phones or the internet, there are lots of ways to communicate, all you need is time to do it. You should be honest to each otehr too and be faithful.

You need to TRUST you partner that is a key in a successful relationship. Also always find time to have a communication especially now that we have lot means of communicating tools. And also always give him/her an assurance to your commitment

To make a long distance relationship work both lover must learn how to trust on each other, because the hardest of being in a long distance relationship is the jealousy. I have been through that and I experience how hard it was when you were not able to see your love one and you don't even know what he/she doing nor where he/she is going. I jealous most of the time when she went out to party with her friends. But she gave an encouraging words and a choice that I need to trust her and overcome my jealousy.

Right now my husband and I are many states apart. I think what is keeping us strong is our love for each other and our trust in each other. If you don't have trust you have nothing. We also talk every single day which helps a lot. We send each other pictures and text messages through the day when we can't call. It keeps us going strong. The thought that we will be together soon helps us get through the tough times. =)

if you are serious about the long distance relationship then try to listen more than saying for better understanding of your partner, find our hobbies and general interests of that person and decide if you could carry on or you find them just as a friend. I think trusting each other and constant communication. There must be at least 3 means of communication. You must communicate thru sms, email, chat, phone call, I suggest chikka (internet based texting) open communication 24/7.
