Do you think Hillary would have made a better President?

At a New York political event last week, Republican and Democratic office-holders were all bemoaning President Obama’s handling of the debt-ceiling crisis when someone said, “Hillary would have been a better president.” “Every single person nodded, including the Republicans,” reported one observer. At a luncheon in the members’ dining room at the Metropolitan Museum of Art on Saturday, a 64-year-old African-American from the Bronx was complaining about Obama’s ineffectiveness in dealing with the implacable hostility of congressional Republicans when an 80-year-old lawyer chimed in about the president’s unwillingness to stand up to his opponents. “I want to see blood on the floor,” she said grimly Remember that 3 a.m. phone call? Remember the warning about the rose-colored petals falling from the sky? Remember about learning on the job? Sure you do. Doesn’t a part of you, deep down, realize she was right?” wrote Dickinson, a political-science professor at Middlebury College. Among Clinton fans, particularly older women, the language was frequently far more caustic. “Obama has no spine and no balls,” said a 67-year-old New Yorker. In Connecticut, a businessman who raised money for Obama in 2008 said, “I’m beyond disgusted.” In New Jersey, a teacher reported that even her friends in the Obama administration are grievously disillusioned with his lack of leadership—and many have begun to whisper about a Democratic challenge for the 2012 presidential nomination. “I think people are furtively hoping that Hillary runs,” she said http://news.yahoo.com/hillary-told-005800491.html;_ylt=Akm92G2LSO3myUNXO_c0kIr59XQA;_ylu=X3oDMTNhY29na2F2BHBrZwM2MTM5MWE0Ny01OWMzLTMwOTctYWI4OC1mNDc1MTE0NjEwMTYEcG9zAzIEc2VjA3RvcF9zdG9yeV9jb2tlBHZlcgNkYjA4MjJlMC1jMWMwLTExZTAtOWY2Ny1jN2I5YTNiZGZjYzI-;_ylg=X3oDMTJydnBrbjlzBGludGwDdXMEbGFuZwNlbi11cwRwc3RhaWQDOTViODM5OTAtNGUxOC0zZmM2LWEzYzEtZjVjNzYzMjA0ZDE0BHBzdGNhdANwb2xpdGljcwRwdANzdG9yeXBhZ2U-;_ylv=3 What is your opinion? In what areas do you this she would have been better at?

Hilliary Clinton was one of the most corrupt people in politics, before she was even in elected office. No. She would not have made a good president. We would have had 8 more years of endless scandals, with people around the planet laughing at us, just as they did with Bill.

Um... you don't remember the 90s? There were scandals endlessly during the 90s. It was every single month there was a new scandal. And Hilliary was in nearly all of them. You don't remember the futures market? Where she invested $1,000 in Cattle Futures, and in 10 months, while never having been in the Cattle business at any time in her life, walked away with $100,000 from her amazing lucky contracts. Then it comes out that the contracts were sold in violation of rules requiring money to offset the account. She should have paid at least $20,000 or more. But she got those contract free... from a lawyer named Jason Blair who worked for Tyson Foods, Arkansas largest employer... and Bill was Governor. No pay off there... right? Everyone can invest $1,000 and ten months later have $100,000, right? Want to try it? See what happens if you do what Hillary did? And that's just one of dozens. How about white water? You remember, where Hillary was working for a group that sold homes to people, and then wrote into the contract such language that if they were even late, let alone missed a payment, by even a day, they would foreclose on the home, and kick the people out? Sounds like a great way to make money, eh? How about her having Bill pardon Jonathan Pollard, a convicted Espionage agent, in order to get the New York Jewish vote? (he was Jewish). I mean the list of sleazy things Hillary has done throughout her life is unbelievable. How about her ties to Dial America, you remember the telemarketing firm that had lists of 'old people', 'mentally handicapped', and 'Alzheimer patient'. Literally having lists of targets they could get to buy their stuff because they were infirm or not mentally stable. And lets not forget the planting of question in supposedly open forums. Do you remember that? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9Fr1dm2Qdls&eurl= So this girl going to a Hillary rally is approached by campaign staffers who ask if she wants to ask Hillary a question. She says yes, and want to ask her about her Energy policy. The staffer tells her that's a bad question, and instead pulls out a flip book of 'approved' questions, and says select from one of these. Then on TV, Hillary acts like she is randomly selecting a member of the crowd to ask her a question, when in fact the whole thing was staged. Really.... You know Hillary isn't scummy? From whom or what, or does your personal experience tell you this? Because it sure isn't the facts. Hillary is a corrupt politician. That's the facts.

I supported Hillary until she withdrew and then, I backed Obama. I really think the Tea Party & the extreme right would have opposed her and stonewalled everything she tried to enact the same way they are doing to Obama. Also, there seems to be a strong feeling among certain Republicans that they are doing to Obama exactly what Dems did to George Bush. Getting even, I guess. I can't relate to that. I voted twice for Bill Clinton but I never despised George Bush and I gave him his due when I thought he was right. (Like when he backed Henry Paulson).

I was in full support of Hillary during the campaign and she won more primaries that Obama. I also voted twice for Bill and to all indication Hillary was a very important part in Bill's presidency and would have with all her experience made a MUCH better President than Obama. When Hillary withdrew(????) I never for a second contemplated voting for Obuma. His background was a perfect recipe for disaster.

well, Hillary is a very strong and intelligent woman and I do think she would be a strong leader. At this point, I don't trust that any of them can do much in the way of good change. it's not All on the president. I think that we need a complete over-haul and a smaller government and someone that is really really for the people. and I mean the people like you and me...the ones that sit on here on Mylot hoping to make ten or twenty dollars because 10.00 really is a lot to us.

It doesn't matter who the president is. At this point our government is so corrupt that even a president with the best of intentions wouldn't stand a chance.

I agree it is not all on the president. And it takes awhile to bring people over to your side. One term is not long in the scheme of things.

I thought highly of the idea for Hillory to run when she first tried for it. I think she would make a great president. Her husband left the office with our country having a nearly 240 Billion surplus. What could she do that would better that? We need someone that has some positive ideas for this country and some people to help get them done. Obama has been a real disappointment. I couldn't believe people voting him in but that is what the majority wanted. He does seem to be a quiet passage, not the needed steamroller.

Hillary has been accused frequently of having more 'b@lls' than most men, so do I feel these older women may be right? yea, I do. But I still don't think I'd like to see her as president.

I wanted to vote for her last time around but I am so sure how much she has been contaminated with B.O. (she'd need a truckload of deodorant!!)

Ok, I'm late getting to this discussion. I have to at least giggle some because Hillary , tho, she is not my favorite person, would , now especially seeing the "obamaitis" we seem to have run into.........and in medical terms, "itis" means infection. Yes, we Americans are now infected with a deadly infection, one that will most certainly take us down into the pits of hell. Hilary would have at least kept our country at our wits end and not waiting to see if our rights are going to be taken away or not. I think she also has the knowledge to take the office seriously. AND, regardless of some responses, I think she has the back bone... Besides, could we have done any worse? I saw McClain on TV today and tho I missed what he was saying, he would have been better too. I would now vote for either one............. Hillary would more than likely get my vote over all the males I've seen so far running for the highest office in our country. Sorry to be so long on responding.........just busy with life. quita

"in medical terms, "itis" means infection." Actually it means inflammation. Of course this is politics so I won't hold a mistake in medical terminology against you :)

I agree that Hillary would have been a better choice in 2008. She is decisive, she has experience in Washington. Right now I want to throw everyone out, though. Is there ever going to be a Congress and President that realize they are supposed to serve the people, for a limited time and then get the heck out of there?

I did not vote for her, however, if given the choice between Obama and Clinton, I would have chose Clinton. I think had she won originally, the state that this country is in would not be half as bad. Between inexperience and narcissism, Obama can Not possibly hope to fix a damn thing. He would first have to try to start a sentence with a word other than "I".

I think her goals would have largely been the same. I think her methods would have been much different though. For one thing, she didn't lie about her healthcare goals. She said flat out that she would mandate that people buy healthcare. Obama mocked her for saying that, said he was completely against it, and then did exactly what Hillary said SHE would do. At least Hillary had the guts to be honest about her stance on issues, controversial or otherwise. Obama really has no balls. I disagree with Hilary's agenda just as I do Obama's, but at least we know what her agenda is. Obama's worshipers just assumed he stood for everything they wanted him to (like the people who thought he supported gay marriage).

I think that her methods would have made a giant difference in how the Americans and the rest of the world think of the USA and it's President.

I've been wondering the same thing alot lately. Foreign policy has been pretty stable with her covering his butt, but Obama doesn't seem to have much influence on Capitol Hill and it is hurting the budget problems. Then the apparent inability to rein in the discretionary Department budgets for which he is directly responsible is painful to watch. One joke was Hilary ran the White House during Bill's Presidency and if that has even a hint of truth to it, there is no doubt we would be better off with her now.
