Salvation as told in the Bible

How Many People Would Die For Us? hope everyone has someone in life who would die for them. Such a person may be a parent or spouse who would sacrifice their own life for your life. The Israelites sacrificed their children to Molech by burning them to death, demonstrating the cruelty of people in the world, besides the outlandish things they'll do in obedience to false teachers. Even though the penalty for sacrificing their children to Molech was death by stoning, the people were so hardhearted they disobeyed God and killed their own children. "You shall also say to the sons of Israel: 'Any man from the sons of Israel or from the aliens sojourning in Israel who gives any of his offspring to Molech, shall surely be put to death; the people of the land shall stone him with stones'" (Lev. 20:2). These Israelites didn't love their children enough to die for them. Rather, they killed their children to satisfy their own lustful desires. People are the same today. There are few people in the world who would die for another, but many who would kill to fulfill their own personal desires. Not Many Would Die For Us God's word reveals that there are few people who would die for us. "For one will hardly die for a righteous man; though perhaps for the good man someone would dare even to die" (Rom. 5:7).

My understanding of salvation as told in the Bible is like this: Ephesians 2:8 says that we are saved by grace through faith, and not by ourselves since salvation is a gift from God; it is not by works, lest any man should boast.

Even today many people are sacrificing their own children, the millions of children who get killed on the Abortion clinics worldwide means that we haven't changed a bit from the ancient people who sacrificed their children

What is your point? You quote one bit out of the Torah as if it is still true of all Jews when it was only true of an ancient people struggling with the concept of monotheism. They won that battle and they stopped that practice. There are people today who never got over that practice you know. As to who would die for another today...I think a lot of parents would put themselves in harms way to save their child. I would have...they are long grown and gone on with their own lives now. Not many adults would die for each other...except maybe a secret service person for the president. I find that kind of bizarre actually. Soldiers die everyday for you and your family, to keep them safe. Does that count in you small little mind? I was in the military...fortunately I survived. Thre are other examples...think about it...
