Scientist will cause end of the world!

So I recently learned that scientists have been creating miniature black holes in an attempt to recreate the Big Bang AKA creation of the universe. This machine is set to run at its strongest power in December of 2012. What a coincidence right? I hate that scientists are always running experiments and spending billions of OUR money on these ridiculous tests on things we don't need to know! Why don't they spend money on creating cures to diseases to SAVE people. It makes no difference whether or not we know how the universe was created. We seriously need to stop them from conducting these experiments. They should be giving that money to charity, or to people who have nothing or I don't know.. TO PEOPLE WHO WORK 24/7 AND BARELY MAKE ANYTHING! What are your opinions on scientists and their outrageous "experiments"?

Well funny thing is, without these scientists that are making the "Big Bang", well without the institute where this exact experiment is being performed you would not be able to share your thoughts here, because well they invented internet... As for giving money to charity, I think there are thousand of institutions and corporations that should give money to charity before these scientists or this exact institute. And for me personally understanding how the universe started is pretty much awesome.

Interesting, I never knew creating Black Holes made the internet possible.... I don't think scientist should stop completing experiments PERIOD, i just think that creating black holes couldn't benefit us, because from what scientists say, they suck up everything around them and who knows where they end up? I personally wouldn't like to find out. If they want to make black holes, let them be the ones to suffer the possible consequences. "Curiosity killed the cat".

Well I said the institute that who is making this experiment crated the Internet... not black holes... But well black holes actually did... Because Internet was one of the products designed because of this experiments needs... So yes creating black holes made internet possible, if they would not plan them, who knows when we would have internet... One of the scientists there mentioned in one of the documentaries that they made something for sharing information for their needs in the experiment that is superior to Internet as we know it and we will soon get to know it. They are not creating black holes though, there is a theory that they might appear... Who knows what this experiments might bring to us, maybe understanding and getting the knowledge.

You do realise that most of the conveniences of modern life, all those techie gadgets you love so much, all the super-crops that grow in terribly barren places, all the amazing materials of which your house and its contents are made and ENORMOUS amounts of other stuff we all take for granted all came from "outrageous" experiments, don't you? I know the research itself sounds completely stupid (and it often is a bit bizarre, to say the least): it's the data and the application of the principles they discover that make all the useful stuff possible. The perfect example is the space program. Oh, so pointless, right? Wrong. Spinoffs from the program have created dozens of useful things, from graphite to foamless toothpaste (for kids), programmable pacemakers, smoke detectors, better prosthetics... the list goes on and on (there's a site for it, in fact: http://techtran.msfc.nasa.gov/at_home.html). Although creating mini black holes seems stupid, pointless and even somewhat reckless (), the resulting technology could be things like proper long-distance space travel (and therefore colonisation, which is going to be important once we've finished destroying the Earth with our stupid materialistic greed), micro-miniaturisation, ultra-heavy materials, light manipulation and tons of other stuff. Instead of giving all science's money to the poor, why not stop killing each other and give all the military funding to them instead? Surely that'd be a better idea than slowing down the advance of knowledge.

Give to caesar what belong to caesar. First it their money if you want to run our own charity works then work for it. The reason why they have money because they love what they are doing and they work for it. Now about mini black hole. Do you think does scientist will experiment does things without any good benefits? Our sun will die in the next billion of years. If we can't find a way to understand our universe in the end we are all going to die.

Scientists discover differant things from reasearch, by reasearching how the universe began they will also be able to gain information regarding other things such as space travel, cybernetics and genetic modification

What you're talking about is the horror films and movies about scientists going mad and producing a mutant being or something. You know, those movies like the recent one the rise of the planet of apes. Because of these movies, we always have these ideas that what if the scientists invent something that could benefit us but also damage us? I have heard that they've been trying to re create the Big Bang and there's an idea that a Black hole may be produced but everything is controlled in the science lab. Not to worry. All the stuff about the destruction of the world due to science are all in the movies. =)
