How can junk food be bad for a thin person trying to gain weight? Normally, "junk food" like foods from fast food restaurants or chips and sweets are known to be bad because they make you fat. Now, I also heard that this type of food is also bad for a thin person trying to gain weight. How is that? And what's the main difference between junk food and healthy food?

Hi! Judy junk foods are armfull to us wether you are fat or thin. Because junk food has very high containt of salt, fat and sugar but very low protien. While healthy food contain low salt, sugar, and fat but high containt of protien and all the things that we need in daily dite. If a thin person trying to be fat and eat junk food it may increase their colestrol and can cause heart attack.

Junk food is bad no matter why you eat it. Want to gain weight??? Do you really want to gain weight in fat??? I think not. OK, let's gain good weight. Eat healthy foods only increase the protein amounts in your diet. Get lots of exercise and your body will make muscle mass out of the protein. Did you know that muscle weighs more than fat?? OK, see that doctor before any major diet change. a balanced diet supplies all the vitamins and minerals as well.

Most junk food has a high salt content, which can result in high blood pressure. The problem with junk food is the fat content, chips are the most fattening, with about 20 grams of fat. If you want to gain weight, you need to eat healthy. There are ways to eat to gain weight, but not by eating junk at all. Sweets can rot your teeth, and there are too many chemicals in them, so they're bad enough as it is. Healthy foods contain vitamins and minerals, junk food contains very little of these nutrients that your body needs to stay healthy.

Hi Judy890. Main difference between junk food and healthy food is the amount of calories. The more calories the food, means you will gain weight easily. However, this is not a good way to gain weight as you need a balanced meal to either gain or lose weight. Junk food don't give you enough nutrition for your body to function well. It stores up as fat and does give enough energy for you to function well. Either you try gaining or losing weight, you still have to eat a proper and balanced meal.
